Considering that Ambrose defeated Rollins at WWE TLC, the former Intercontinental Champion went on to hold the title for almost 29 days after dropping it to Bobby Lashley.

While giving the belt to the All-Mighty Bobby Lashley is understandable, dropping the title so early only proved to be a final nail in the coffin for Ambrose's credibility as a villain.

With the 33-year old Superstar now roaming without a significant feud, losing the Intercontinental Championship could have played a pivotal role in coercing Ambrose to take this unfortunate decision.
