4 booking errors WWE should avoid at Wrestlemania 35

The Road to Wrestlemania began at the Royal Rumble last month. Several new feuds have started that could end up at the Grandest Stage of Them All. Wrestlemania 35 is just two months away, and it will be held on 8th April at th MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. In fact, Wrestlemania 29 was also held in the same venue.

In all honesty, WWE had a substandard run last year, as the company struggled to get good ratings. The poor bookings played a major role in the decline of ratings. Considering Wrestlemania is the biggest wrestling carnival of the year, it did not meet the expectation last year. As a matter of fact, debutant Ronda Rousey produced the best match of Wrestlemania 34.

WWE needs to fix the past mistakes at Wrestlemania 35. As it is the biggest event of the year, the storylines should be riveting. Every match should have a proper build up unlike last year. The Undertake and Cena match had a strange build up, and Undertaker squashed Cena in three minutes. Likewise, Braun Strowman and The Bar had poor story development.

Two PPVs are set to take place before the Show of Shows in New Jersey. Since two matches are already confirmed for the show, the storylines will progress for the remaining matches at MetLife Stadium. Here we discuss four mistakes WWE must refrain from committing at Wrestlemania 35.

#4 Overlooking the United States Championship

Shinsuke Nakamura as United States Champion
Shinsuke Nakamura as United States Champion

The United States Championship is one of the prestigious titles of WWE, and many legendary wrestlers have held the belt. R-Truth is the current US champion, and he won the belt last week after pinning Shinsuke Nakamura. However, the prestige of the title has certainly declined in recent years. As a matter of fact, it was defended in the kick-off show of Royal Rumble.

The US title has a huge honor, as it is the second oldest active belt of WWE. Elite superstars like Ric Flair, John Cena, Bret Hart, Sting, Roddy Piper and many more won the title. However, the recent US title storylines have not been impressive. Nakamura's reign was uninteresting last year, and it has become insignificant with bland storylines.

Though the current build-up is not compelling for the US title, WWE can still fix it before Wrestlemania 35. Moreover, the title match needs to be in the main show at MetLife Stadium.

#3 Braun Strowman should be booked strongly

The Monster among Men
The Monster among Men

Braun Strowman is top guy of the company, and he should be booked well for Wrestlemania 35. Strowman was taken out of the Universal Championship match at Royal Rumble. He will not be in the title match at Wrestlemania 35, as Royal Rumble winner Seth Rollins is challenging Brock Lesnar.

Strowman was booked poorly last year when he had a feud with the Bar. Though he won the Raw Tag Team Championship, it was not a significant achievement. He has been chasing the Universal title for a long time, but he has not grabbed the title. As he will not be in Universal title picture, he should be booked significantly to maintain his stature.

The Monster of among Men is a captivating character, and he needs an elite opponent in New Jersey. Currently, Strowman is having a feud with Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin, and the rivalry might continue until Wrestlemania. Nevertheless, an opponent like Undertaker or Kane might help Strowman to make a statement at Metlife Stadium.

#2 Adding Charlotte Flair to the Raw Women's Championship match at Wrestlemania 35

As the winner of women's Royal Rumble match, Becky Lynch is scheduled to face the Raw Women's Champion, Ronda Rousey. Becky Lynch won the Royal Rumble match at Chase Field after last eliminating Charlotte Flair. Subsequently, the former best friends had a brawl on Smackdown Live, and it suggests that the rivalry is not over.

Charlotte and Becky had an awe-inspiring rivalry after the latter turned heel last year. The two women had a splendid feud, and they competed in first ever Last Woman Standing match at Evolution. However, Charlotte is still involved with Becky Lynch on Smackdown Live, and WWE could be planning a triple threat match at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

While Charlotte could be a good addition in the Raw Women's Championship match, it can ruin the excitement of the actual match. Currently, Rousey and Lynch are the biggest prospects of women's division, and the majority of fans might not approve if the Queen joins this rivalry.

Moreover, Charlotte already had a bout with Ronda Rousey, but Lynch has never faced Rousey. In fact, Lynch could become the first woman to pin Ronda Rousey in a one-on-one match.

#1 Over-dependence on the part-timers

WWE has been dependent on part-timers for the last couple of years. Part-timers like Undertaker, John Cena, Shane McMahon, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, and Triple H overshadowed the regular performers last year. The scenario needs to change this year, which will be definitely beneficial for the company. The full-time wrestlers perform every week, and they should be in the limelight at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

The part-timers are a massive draw as they made a name for themselves in the past. Undertaker wrestles every year at Wrestlemania, but he had poor booking last year. Triple H also takes part every year.

Moreover, superstars like the Rock, Batista, and Goldberg main evented Wrestlemania in the last couple of years. In fact, Shawn Michaels, who broke his retirement last year, might participate this year.

The approach makes it seem that the full-time superstars are not competent enough to headline Wrestlemania. Several full-time wrestlers are capable of providing a remarkable show at MetLife Stadium.

Superstars like Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Braun Strowman and many more should play an integral role at Wrestlemania 35. The PPV must revolve around the top guys of both brands. They wrestle every week, and it will be rewarding if they get the deserving spotlight at the biggest event of the year.
