#2 Roman Reigns (WWE Intercontinental Champion) vs Cesaro (WWE RAW Tag Team Champion)
In late 2017, Roman Reigns defeated the Miz to win his first-ever Intercontinental Champion. Roman, being a fighting champion, would go on defend his title every night on RAW. Just like Cena’s US Title open challenge, the Big Dog’s IC Championship Open Challenge became a customary part on Monday nights.
Reigns put over many young superstars in Elias, Jason Jordan to name a few. On the 11th December episode of RAW however, the Swiss Superman challenged the GUY for a shot at his gold. Cesaro was one half of the RAW Tag Team Champions and this led to another “Champion vs Champion” match on WWE TV.
Cesaro and Roman put on an excellent match but in the end, the S.H.I.E.L.D member speared the Swiss Cyborg to retain his championship.
