Goldberg is a pro wrestling legend, who was the top dog on WCW, and had a brief run in WWE too back in the early 2000s, before returning again in 2016, before wrestling a few matches in 2017, and 2019.

His most recent return was in 2019, when he feuded with The Undertaker, a dream match that has been in the making for years. Although the actual match was a trainwreck, with Goldberg botching several moves and concussing himself, the build to the feud was a little more interesting, including Goldberg's promo in the week leading up to the match.

It was later revealed by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Goldberg's promos are unscripted, much like Paul Heyman or Brock Lesnar, and that he's allowed to say it from the heart.

“Bill Goldberg’s not being scripted by these writers, Goldberg’s in a different game. Goldberg’s in the Paul Heyman/Brock Lesnar thing where they work everything out and obviously Bill is saying what he wants to say. He doesn’t have the people telling him what to say," said Meltzer.

In his promo, Goldberg spoke about how he would not bring "the family man Goldberg" and that he would bring the "icon Goldberg" that broke all sorts of records on WCW.
