Rey Mysterio is a legend in the pro wrestling business and a future WWE Hall of Famer, and the 21st Grand Slam Champion did so as a babyface throughout his long career.

Mysterio first joined WWE in 2002, winning several titles along the way, including the WWE Championship, becoming one of the most-loved Superstars of all-time. Mysterio has never been a heel in WWE, but was briefly a heel on WCW, when he was in a faction called Filthy Animals that comprised of Mysterio, Billy Kidman, and Eddie Guerrero.

Mysterio's first run with WWE stretched from 2002 to 2015, following which he left the company to a wrestler at AAA, Lucha Underground, and NJPW, as well as other promotions, before returning to the WWE in 2018.

He won the United States title earlier this year, becoming a Grand Slam Champion. Mysterio could perhaps be one of the few Superstars who could end his career without ever been a heel in WWE television.

Recently, Mysterio explained why it is difficult for heels to get heat these days: "It is [impossible for heels to get real heat nowadays] because, for the fans, if you have a rich history on your way to becoming one of the top heels, all-of-a-sudden, heels are loved. Why? Because you worked hard to obtain your spot."
