#2. Why isn't the referee counting?

The referee was a let down during the Champion vs Champion match
Kofi Kingston's match against AJ Styles last night on SmackDown Live was a last-minute change to the original show since it was supposed to be a six-man tag team match. The match was still a fantastic showdown between two of the best athletes that WWE has at present, but the referee once again let the two men down.

Towards the end of the match, Kingston was going for the victory when Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson dragged Styles out of the ring to avoid the pin. The referee saw that he was on the outside and Kingston later followed, but didn't count. This is a normal one-on-one match which means that the count-out rule still applies, but the referee decided to stand and watch the action instead and didn't once try to count to force the two men to get back inside the ring.
