On the SmackDown after this year's WrestleMania, Carmella finally cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on former champ Charlotte to win her first ever championship.
She would go on to beat Charlotte at Backlash in a feud that hopefully stopped at that PPV. SmackDown has a group of ladies who work hard enough and should be in the title picture.
The Women's division on the blue brand does have more heels than faces, but exceptions can be made on the situation.
Let's take a look at a few people WWE should consider having Carmella feud against. Either for the sake of a new feud or someone who can be a legit threat to her title reign.
#1 Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch is someone fans have been begging WWE to push for so long now. It's sad to see her never involved in anything really important on SmackDown every week. She usually just wrestles and loses and so forth.
Lynch would be a perfect option to win the title from Carmella sometime down the road.
Having Lynch feuding for anything at this rate could save her career as she hasn't been in a proper feud since she lost the title in late 2016.
The rivalry could be built around the fact that Lynch usually loses and hasn't done anything. Carmella can rub that in week after week until she was to lose the title.
#2 Naomi
Naomi finally achieve her goal of becoming the Women's champion last year. She held the title from WrestleMania up until SummerSlam when she lost it to Natalya.
Like a lot of people on the main roster after they lose a title, Naomi fell back down the ranks and hasn't done much since then.
So, why not give her another shot at the title. She a great wrestler and can be a threat to Carmella's reign as champion.
Naomi would have to develop a little more in the mic department as Carmella is the better talker, but this would be a great feud to see.
If the match ever did happen, it'd be a nice change to the title scene, even if it ends up being one match or two.
#3 Asuka
Since her shocking defeat at WrestleMania, Asuka hasn't really done anything since then. That is shocking in itself. This could be a perfect time to build her up again.
There's a chance that Asuka could end up in the Women's Money in the bank, so have her win and immediately beat Carmella.
It will make the last few weeks seem like nothing as WWE can build her as a top star again as it should be. Asuka is too good to not be doing anything or jobbing all the time.
It could set up a lengthy feud as well if WWE were to go for it. Asuka is someone is who is a legit threat to Carmella's title reign. If Charlotte isn't, then Asuka is.
