#1 Mick Foley vs The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match)

This match remains his most significant one to this day!

There is no list about Mick Foley's best or brutal matches complete without this one. The match for which Foley will always be remembered is also the one in which he almost died. He started the bout on top of the cell with the Undertaker, and after exchanging a few blows on the top, which saw the top of the cell almost give way, Foley was thrown down from the top off the cell onto the announce tables below, in what has become the scene most symbolic of the matches in general. It shocked everyone, and people even thought Foley would lose his life.

But it was not over. He got up and on top of the cell yet again, much to the shock of everyone concerned. He was far from done. The Undertaker hit him with a Chokeslam, and down he went yet again, this time through a hole that had opened in the cell.

He lay there, prone, unmoving until the Dead Man got down. Then Foley kicked things up a notch. With his own tooth having gone through his lip and hanging off his nose, and what would later be discovered to be a concussion and several injured ribs, with some internal bleeding as well, Foley got up and continued to fight. He took a steel chair to the head but also gave back to the Phenom. He then brought out Thumbtacks and spread them over the ring. He hit The Undertaker with a Sitout Piledriver, but he kicked out.

The match finally ended when the Undertaker chokeslammed Mick Foley onto the Thumbtacks and picked up the win.
