4 double standards showed by WWE on the latest episode of RAW (11th February 2019)

The final segment of RAW was full of double standards and we are here to expose them.

WWE is infamous for its lack of consistency. One day, it will tell one thing and on the next day - boom - the rules are different. Even in the new era, things are no different. WWE is still telling one thing and doing the polar opposite. For starters, even after iterating that they value full-time wrestlers, Brock Lesnar has been the Universal Champion for the better part of the past two years.

On the latest episode of Raw, WWE replaced Becky Lynch with Charlotte Flair for the WrestleMania main event for Ronda Rousey's Raw Women's Championship. However, it came at a cost. WWE broke some of it's own words on the path of replacing The Man with The Queen. In this thread, we will take a look at a few of such hypocrisies shown by WWE on the latest episode of Raw.

Disclaimer: The author is fully aware that WWE is scripted. However, there have been various inconsistencies associated with certain booking decisions. This thread is only for the purpose of highlighting them to the audiences.

#4 No more free opportunity

No One gets handed anything - Triple H
No One gets handed anything - Triple H

When Seth Rollins asked Triple H to give him an Intercontinental Championship match against Dean Ambrose, The Game replied that in the new era of WWE, no one would get an automatic rematch or no one would be handed anything. However, WWE heeded no ears to the King of Kings' promo today.

After Becky Lynch apologized to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon for hitting them, Triple H assured Becky that she could challenge Rousey at WrestleMania 35. While Lynch was face to face with Rousey, Vince McMahon made an abrupt entrance and suspended Becky. The whole scene became most absurd when he declared Charlotte Flair as the replacement for Becky. Flair has done nothing that warrants her a title match against Ronda Rousey, yet was given a free pass.

#3 It is okay for Ronda to break Stephanie's arm

When Ronda Rousey broke Stephanie McMahon's arm at both WrestleMania 34 and the weeks following The Showcase of Immortals, there were no ramifications. However, when Stephanie McMahon was merely attacked by Becky Lynch, she received criticism and a two-month suspension from the CEO of WWE - Vince McMahon. There have been various other instances where the authority figure got attacked by the wrestlers - yet little to no actions were taken against them.

#2 Listening to the fans

The McMahons promised to listen to the fans.
The McMahons promised to listen to the fans.

In the long run, Becky Lynch may defeat Charlotte Flair and advance to the Raw Women's Championship match and defeat Ronda Rousey to become the new Raw Women's Champion. However, at the moment, things don't look bright for The Man. That is horrifying considering the fact that Lynch has been the single most popular star in WWE since the 2018 edition of SummerSlam.

Claiming that they listen to the fans and not pushing the fan favorite definitely qualifies as hypocrisy.

#1 The Royal Rumble winners are entitled to a championship match at WrestleMania. Else they can sue the company.

Randy Orton with his attorney and Legacy came prepared to sue WWE if they were to fire him.
Randy Orton with his attorney and Legacy came prepared to sue WWE if they were to fire him.

Randy Orton's road to WrestleMania in 2009 was one of the best storylines in WWE history. After winning the Royal Rumble, Orton showed his psychotic behavior and violently attacked Vince McMahon. When Stephanie threatened to fire him, he replied that the Royal Rumble winner has a legal right to compete at WrestleMania, and he could sue the company if he was fired.

If the same rule is to be applied in this case, Becky Lynch has every right to sue WWE and possibly cancel WrestleMania since The Authority wasted her opportunity. However, we have seen no mention of such a rule, since WWE is conveniently shaping up the plot in a different direction.
