4 incredible face-offs that should take place during The Greatest Royal Rumble match

As if Wrestlemania was not sufficient, WWE is bringing another extravaganza for the WWE Universe, this time from Saudi Arabia, as they will be hosting the first ever Greatest Royal Rumble event from the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

The event boasts of a spectacular card which features almost all WWE Titles on the line along with the first ever 50-man Royal Rumble.

Many legends, such as The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, and Chris Jericho among others will be making an appearance.

The Royal Rumble match will, no doubt, have a lot of memorable moments for us and here is looking at 4 confrontations we are most excited to see during the match:

#4 Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho

O
Owens and Jericho

Who doesn't remember the 'Festival of Friendship' where Kevin Owens brutally beat down his "best-friend" for over a year, Chris Jericho. It was one of the most entertaining segments of 2017 and cemented Kevin Owens as a deadly heel instead of the comedy character he had become.

The two former friends clashed at Wrestlemania 33 for Jericho's United States Championship in a match that was won by Kevin Owens. The two Superstars had two more matches after their Wrestlemania bout, trading wins with Owens getting the last laugh.

The last time this two arch-nemesis clashed was on a Smackdown episode, back in July 2017 in a triple threat match with AJ Styles also involved.

It would be great to see these two face-off at the Greatest Royal Rumble and hopefully, Jericho manages to one-up The Prizefighter by eliminating him.

#3 Rey Mysterio and Andrade Almas

Andrade 'Cien' Almas took the WWE Universe by storm when he signed with NXT in 2015.

Formerly known as La Sombra, Almas was a huge sensation in Mexico and many believed him to be the next breakout Lucha star after Rey Mysterio.

Almas recently lost the NXT Championship to Aleister Black at NXT Takeover: New Orleans and has been moved to Smackdown as part of the Superstar Shakeup, although he is yet to make his debut on the Blue Brand.

Mysterio and Almas are both Mexican icons; and with Mysterio returning for GRR, it would be great to see a showdown between them which would hopefully lead to a match in the future, where Mysterio can pass on the torch to Almas as the flag bearer of Lucha wrestling in WWE.

#2 Braun Strowman and The Great Khali

The Monster Among Men against The Punjabi Giant; now that is an encounter nobody would want to miss.

Braun Strowman has been on a rampage ever since he started out his singles career, taking down any and every one who stood in his way. He even single-handedly won the RAW Tag Team Championships at Wrestlemania, with his 10-year old tag team partner: Nicholas.

Strowman has defeated Monsters of the past in Mark Henry, Big Show and Kane, but the one monster from the past who he hasn't conquered yet is The Great Khali.

Khali will be making his in-ring return for WWE after 4 years and what a sight it would be to see Braun Strowman eliminate a giant like Khali in the Greatest Royal Rumble.

#1 Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan

Ang
Bryan and Angle

Ever since Kurt Angle made his return to WWE last year, fans have been wanting to see a dream match between two of the greatest ever in Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan. However, due to Bryan being retired as a result of injuries, many had given up hope of seeing him back in the WWE ring as a competitor.

Daniel Bryan came out of retirement just before Wrestlemania this year and had his comeback match at Wrestlemania 34 when he teamed with Shane McMahon to take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan are both on different brands as of now, so the chances of them crossing paths are very bleak; and so, a confrontation at the Greatest Royal Rumble is probably as close as we can get to a match between the two for the foreseeable future.
