#2 WWE World Cup victor receives a championship opportunity

The King of The Ring PPV aired between 1993-2002 and has been absent since. Throughout its tenure names like; Bret Hart, Triple H, and Steve Austin reaped the benefits, and became the victor. Their victories led to lengthy and memorable careers. It was at King of the Ring 1996 when Austin coined his catchphrase. However, since 2002 WWE has sporadically utilized tournaments.
At WWE Crown Jewel the WWE World Cup will play out, including Raw and SmackDown talent. The tournament will include; Seth Rollins, Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley, and Dolph Ziggler representing Raw. Whereas, Rey Mysterio, The Miz, Randy Orton, and Jeff Hardy will represent Smackdown. The matches will be dramatic and entertaining. However, only one brand can be victorious.
On this week's SmackDown, Shane McMahon improved the ante. Whichever SmackDown wrestler loses the final, loses their job. Therefore, this tournament will be exciting.
However, it needs to be beneficial and relevant. At all costs, WWE must avoid wasting this opportunity. They could consider rewarding the victor with a championship opportunity, instead of just awarding a trophy. In doing so, the winner has a future. Just imagine Kurt Angle winning and going on to face Brock Lesnar one more time for the Universal Championship.
