The month of January is always one of the highly anticipated months of the year for a WWE fan as the road to WWE's biggest extravaganza, WrestleMania finally begins in this month with the Royal Rumble.

With a chance to main event WrestleMania, there is always a sense of urgency among WWE superstars when it comes to Rumble. The internet gets flooded with predictions and speculations for Royal Rumble throughout January as the Rumble fever starts running wild on WWE fans.

Well, on another note, after weeks of disappointment, Vince McMahon finally decided to change things for better in WWE and as of late, things have been moving quickly in WWE.

Given we are already in the first weekend of January and are inching closer and closer to Royal Rumble with each passing day, plus with the recent turn of events, there is always room for some predictions.

So, without further ado, let's look at 4 predictions for WWE in this month of January.

#4 Lars Sullivan creates history in the Men's Royal Rumble match

Lars Sullivan is considered to be the next big thing

Lars Sullivan is advertised as an unstoppable force on the NXT roster. With people often regarding him as the next Brock Lesnar, Lars Sullivan is considered to be the next big thing in WWE.

Given Sullivan is expected to make his WWE main roster debut very soon, expect creative to give him a huge push and book him as an unstoppable monster.

With the Royal Rumble just around the corner, one such way could be via creating history in the Rumble match. The record for the most numbers of elimination in a single Rumble match was set by Braun Strowman when he eliminated 13 participants single-handedly in the Greatest Royal Rumble last year. WWE could have Sullivan equal that record, or who knows, maybe break it in the upcoming Rumble match.

#3 Finn Balor gets switched to SmackDown Live

Finn Balor may be in for a huge push

It would not be wrong to say that the recent stint of Internet darling Finn Balor has been underwhelming on the Raw roster. However, as per the latest rumours, the boss of the Balor Club might be in for a huge push as part of the current revolution.

With Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre expected to be in the title picture with Brock Lesnar until WrestleMania 35, there is not much room for Finn Balor on the Raw roster. Thus, Vince might switch Balor to the blue brand as soon as after Royal Rumble.

While the options are very limited on the Raw roster, SmackDown will provide plenty of opportunities for The Demon King at the top card. WWE could have him feud against the likes of AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton and many such high profile names on the blue brand.

#2 Braun Strowman gets depushed to the midcard on the Raw roster

"The Monster Among Men" Braun Strowman is scheduled to take on "The Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble. However, given the recent reports of WWE planning Lesnar vs Rollins for WrestleMania 35 for the Universal Championship a win for Strowman looks unlikely.

Strowman was high on momentum throughout the mid-2018, however, WWE lost the plot towards the end of the year. And given the reports of Lesnar carrying the title until WrestleMania 35, plus Rollins or McIntyre being the top contenders for it, Strowman might be depushed to the midcard for the time being.

It is arguably not that bad an idea given Strowman has lost all his momentum in the past couple of months and building him once again in the midcard would probably be a good idea for him.

#1 The Royal Rumble winners

While it could be anybody's game in the Men's match, it would be shocking if Becky Lynch does not win the Women's Rumble match
While it could be anybody's game in the Men's match, it would be shocking if Becky Lynch does not win the Women's Rumble match

The result for the Women's Royal Rumble match seems very obvious as Becky Lynch is expected to overcome 29 other Women to win the 2nd ever Women's Royal Rumble match. The Man is then expected to go on to challenge Ronda Rousey for Women's Championship at WrestleMania 35, a mouthwatering clash WWE fans were robbed off at TLC.

However, the case in the Men's divisions is far more complex. With the likes of The Miz, AJ Styles, and even The Rock being among the top favourites, WWE might surprise us come January 27. However, among this conundrum, two names which stand out of the mix are Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre.

While Seth has the highest probability to win the Rumble, given the reports of him and Brock squaring off at WrestleMania for the Universal Championship, do not count McIntyre out just yet. I think we might be in for a controversial finish leading to a triple threat match featuring Lesnar, Rollins, and McIntyre at WrestleMania 35.
