The moment was a perfect storm.
It started as an out of nowhere Women's Title match that pitted Asuka versus Charlotte Flair and ending with The Queen of SmackDown Live walking out with the blue brand's biggest prize. If nothing else, it was a bizarre series of events, a spectacular match and a great job on WWE's part for creating that anything can happen kind of feel.
WWE has no plans for these former AEW wrestlers? Here's why!
Think about it! This match had absolutely everything! You saw several false finishes, constant hints of Becky Lynch dropping in to screw over Charlotte and some of the best wrestling seen in a WWE ring. It was a highlight for SmackDown Live, that usually struggles to garner this kind of enthusiasm and hopefully asigng of things to come.
Maybe that's a little too hopeful, but if WWE is willing to make these kind of big swings weeks before WrestleMania 35, imagine what they could do after the big show in April? Then again, just imagine what SmackDown Live could do once it starts airing on Fox Sports?
