4 possible reasons why Vince McMahon tricked Asuka before WrestleMania 35

Smackdown Live had some unforeseen surprises this week which was the second last episode of the blue brand before the Show of Shows. Without a shadow of a doubt, the appalling moment of this week was when Charlotte Flair grabbed the Smackdown Women's Title after beating Asuka. It certainly came as a big shock to a majority of the fans.

Asuka won the Smackdown Women's Title at TLC last year, and it was her first main roster belt. The Empress of Tomorrow eventually defended the belt at Royal Rumble where she defeated Becky Lynch. In all honesty, Asuka's title run became bland following Royal Rumble as she struggled to find a credible opponent.

Asuka's number one contender was supposed to be decided on Smackdown Live this week in a women's fatal-4 way match. However, the Smackdown Women's Championship match between Charlotte and Asuka replaced the fatal-4 way match as the Queen overpowered Asuka.

It is still ambiguous why Asuka lost the belt just eleven days before the Grandest Stage of Them All. Here we discuss four possible reasons why Vince Mahon's billion dollar company took the title away from Asuka before WrestleMania 35.

#4 To provide a rematch of WrestleMania 34

Though we got a rematch of WrestleMania 34 on Smackdown Live this week where the result was same, the two women have a gigantic possibility to headline WrestleMania 35. Asuka might be set to defeat Charlotte Flair after losing two bouts to the Queen. It could be a perfect redemption if Asuka reclaims the Smackdown Women's Title at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Asuka lost the Smackdown Women's Title after 100 days. It will be interesting to see if she gets a rematch on Smackdown Live next week. Considering we are just ten days away from the Showcase of Immortals, Asuka might get her rematch at Metlife Stadium next month.

She received an unfair treatment this week, but Vince McMahon could have a bigger plan for the Empress of Tomorrow at WrestleMania 35. Asuka could lift her fallen stature in WWE if she manages to pin the current Smackdown Women's Champion in New Jersey.

#3 Vince McMahon might not be a big fan of Asuka

It is no secret that Asuka had a colossal success in NXT, but she failed to repeat the same feat on the main roster. Though the Empress of Tomorrow won the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match and the Smackdown Women's Title, she has not been impressive like her NXT days. Asuka has not been an integral part of every PPV which suggests that Vince McMahon might not be a big fan of the former Smackdown Women's Champion.

Asuka was undefeated in NXT, and her winning streak lasted 914 days before Charlotte Flair handed her the first singles loss at WrestleMania 34. As a matter of fact, Asuka also submitted to Carmella and Many Rose after the loss. Though she was invincible in NXT, Vince McMahon does not see her in the same way.

There is no denying that Asuka is proficient in the squared circle and she provided several memorable matches in her career. However, her mic skill is limited as she is not fluent in English. Since the mic skill plays a pivotal role in Vince McMahon's billion dollar company, Asuka's language barrier has kept her on the backseat.

#2 To lift the prestige of Smackdown Women's Title

There is no denying that the glory of Smackdown Women's Title has fallen significantly in recent months. The RAW Women's Championship has been the focal point of WWE after Royal Rumble, but the most coveted women's title of the blue brand has not received the same limelight. Even two weeks before WrestleMania, there was no opponent for the Smackdown Women's Champion.

Though Asuka was not a tedious champion, her booking was substandard. Since she defeated Becky Lynch, she has been in the spotlight as a champion. Asuka did not defend the title at Elimination Chamber as Vince McMahon's billion dollar company could not find the right direction for her.

Charlotte Flair can put the limelight back on the belt after winning it this week. It has been already the talking point of this week as several fans were displeased with the decision. Moreover, the Queen has won the Smackdown Women's Title thrice, and her previous two title reigns were stupendous. Hence, Charlotte Flair is a trusted warrior of Vince McMahon, and the latter prefers her over Asuka at the Showcase of Immortals.

#1 Charlotte Flair might win the RAW Women's title after dropping the Smackdown Women's Title in the same night

Charlotte Flair might participate in two Championship matches if she puts the Smackdown Women's Title on the line at Metlife Stadium. There is no denying that the Queen will walk in as one of the favorites in the main event of WrestleMania. Considering her performance on Smackdown Live this week, she could be set to lift the RAW Women's Title.

Charlotte Flair might not be the only woman to fight in two matches on the same night. Becky Lynch tussled with Asuka at Royal Rumble and went on to win the Women's Royal Rumble match in January. Vince McMahon could be planning the same thing for the Queen as she might close WrestleMania by defeating Beck Lynch and Ronda Rousey.

Since the RAW Women's Championship match is a triple threat match, the current champion Ronda Rousey might not take the pin. However, the result could be beneficial for Asuka if Charlotte loses the Smackdown Women's Title to Asuka earlier that night. Considering Vince McMahon loves to push Charlotte at the Grandest Stage of Them All, it could become a reality next month.
