#2 Shinsuke Nakamura

It's been a horror year for Shinsuke Nakamura. It promised so much when he won the Royal Rumble and challenged AJ Styles for the title at WrestleMania.
It almost got better when after his loss against Styles he suddenly turned heel and was reborn in a completely new avatar which was edgier different and something that brought a reaction out of the audiences.
But then everything went south. He lost comprehensively to Styles and as a rebound won the US title. Subsequently, in the following days/weeks/months (it has been that long), Nakamura has been basically absent from live television.
He hasn't defended his title, he hasn't been involved in any feuds, he's been on and off most of the time.
Nakamura in his own right is a proven star and it is more a fault of the creative team than anything else that he's going through this rut.
He got over as both a heel and a babyface. What the audience wants is more of him rather than the sporadic appearances that he makes.
WWE management could be looking at that and maybe that is the reason why Nakamura will finally be involved in a feud with Rusev.
