The Roman Empire has been tarnished

Roman Reigns is one of the most talented in-ring performers in the WWE today. Despite the proficiency he possesses, 'The Big Dog' finds himself in a terrible spot today.

While the WWE Universe was sure that Roman Reigns would tame the Beast and conquer the Universal Champion, WWE pulled off a massive swerve by having Brock Lesnar retain the belt.

The outcome does come as a surprise but indeed depreciates Roman's credibility as the Guy. Considering the Roman Empire got brutally tarnished in New Orleans, it's time the company pushes the envelope with other talented performers.

So, without further ado, here are four Superstars who have overshadowed Roman Reigns as the face of WWE.

#1 Braun Strowman

The Monster Among Men

After delivering one of the finest moments at WrestleMania 34 with Nicholas, 'The Monster Among Men' unfortunately relinquished the Raw Tag team Championship on Raw.

There's no denying that there were divided opinions among the WWE Universe during his initial run, but Braun Strowman's sheer determination made them feel otherwise.

He is the most significant performer in the company today with very high success rate. He also confirmed in an interview that Vince McMahon looks at him as his next big project which indeed justifies that he has greater things ahead of him.

It's quite ironical that Roman Reigns' most entertaining feud came with Braun Strowman. A monstrous push in 2018 could elevate Braun to the next level.

#2 AJ Styles

The Phenomenal One

If the WWE ever feels the need to replace Roman Reigns, the first superstar they must look up should be AJ Styles. "The Phenomenal One" has traveled all over the world', holding multiple championships in every promotion he was involved with.

Debuting in 2016 at the Royal Rumble, the WWE Champion has taken the company by storm. He carries tremendous marketability and has already proven his versatility between the ropes.

Despite being betrayed by Shinsuke Nakamura at the "Show of Shows", SmackDown Live will still remain the house that AJ Styles built.

Overshadowing John Cena on merchandise sales, the 40-year old superstar has taken the company by storm in just two years.

It's clear that the fans do not want to accept Roman Reigns any time soon; therefore, pushing the envelope with another superstar should be the way to go.

#3 Brock Lesnar

Is there anyone who's enjoying his WWE run more than Brock Lesnar? The Universal champion enjoys a part-time schedule with very high remuneration.

Despite scheduled to lose to 'The Big Dog' at WrestleMania 34, WWE shocked the world when Brock Lesnar not only walked out as the Universal champion but annihilated Roman Reigns in the process.

If the shocking outcome was anything to go by, then it's safe to say that Brock Lesnar is the box-office WWE needs. His marketability gravitates tremendous attention among the mainstream audience.

The recent re-signing of the Beast has nothing but ensured bigger things for Lesnar in 2018 and with Bobby Lashley also making a shocking return, it makes sense that Roman Reigns will have a hard time overshadowing these two superstars.

#4 Ronda Rousey

The Rowdy One

Considered the biggest signing of the WWE, Ronda Rousey has made a strong impact on the company and has genuinely changed the landscape of the WWE.

Despite the fans doubting her in-ring performance, 'The Rowdy One' made a gigantic statement after delivering the match of the night at WrestleMania 34.

Since her debut, it was clear that the former UFC fighter is meant for greater things. Considering how far the women's revolution has gone, Ronda's inclusion will only catapult it to the top of the mountain.

Moreover, the rumor mill is also swirling with reports suggesting that WWE is indeed considering Ronda Rousey to main event next year's WrestleMania against Charlotte.

If there's any truth to this, then The Big Dog will not be headlining 'The Grandest Stage of Them All' next year.
