4 superstars who have pinned Roman Reigns clean

Reigns doesn't lose much does he?
Reigns doesn't lose much, does he?

The Big Dog of WWE, who claims that the entire promotion is his "yard", is one of the strongest booked superstars in WWE. This strong push of the three-time World Champion has not gone down well with the WWE Universe, and it does not seem to end anytime soon.

Only a handful of superstars have had the opportunity to pin Roman Reigns clean, without any shenanigans involved, and two of them came during a dark period for Roman. A time when he was suspended for thirty days for taking illegal substances. However, Roman Reigns still remains an unstoppable force of nature and continues to create havoc every week.

We look at four superstars who have defeated the Big Dog in singles action, with no interference and underhanded tactics.

#4: Sheamus

The Irish Superstar became one of the first superstars to defeat Roman Reigns, and in the process also became one of the few heels to actually get booed against Roman Reigns. During the heights of the Authority back in 2015, Sheamus, the MITB winner, cashed in against a newly crowned champion Roman Reigns and defeated him.

Although, a win in a MITB match is not the cleanest of wins, but its a singles victory over your opponent, albeit a weakened one. However, some superstars like John Cena have even survived a MITB cash-in! Talk about a superhuman booking!

#3: Seth Rollins

The first of the two superstars who defeated Roman Reigns during the Suspension Era, Seth Rollins is hardly a surprise on this list. Rollins, apart from Reigns and Lesnar, is one of the strongest booked superstars on the WWE roster. His singles run has always been main-event level, and thus him pinning Reigns is no surprise.

Reigns was defeated by Rollins at MITB 2016, just a day before the news of his suspension broke out. Rollins pinned Reigns clean as a whistle, before his former Shield-brother, Dean Ambrose cashed in his MITB briefcase.

#2: Finn Balor

Imagine debuting on the main roster, defeating three top superstars in your first night, and defeating the biggest superstar clean. Finn Balor had one hell of a debut back in July 2016 and became yet another conqueror of the Roman Empire during the suspension era.

Balor's popularity knew no leaps and bounds after this monumental debut, and WWE did a great job of presenting him as a believable superstar. However, his unfortunate injury followed by an underwhelming return killed all the momentum. His pairing with Gallows and Anderson will definitely help rebuild his career.

#1: Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman is probably the only superstar in all of WWE to have a positive head-to-head record against the Big Dog. He faced off against Roman Reigns, in the first of their several matches, back in February last year. It ended with Roman handing Strowman his first ever pinfall loss.

However, immediately after Wrestlemania, both these superstars resumed their hostilities, leading to a match at Payback, in which Reigns lost clean to Strowman. In another entertaining encounter, Strowman reigned supreme over Reigns at Great Balls of Fire.

Strowman-Reigns was the rivalry of the year 2017, and WWE's decision to make Strowman the biggest babyface on the roster is surely paying off!
