On this week's SmackDown, we will most likely a few interesting matches from those competing at Survivor Series, including AJ Styles, The Bar, Shinsuke Nakamura, and even maybe Becky Lynch.
While the idea of showing that you're ready for a big PPV by getting a huge win in the ring is good, the WWE Universe won't like to see squash matches where the opponent is defeated with little or no effort.
WWE's stories are built not just by showing utter domination and decimating the opponent; there is also the element of failing, and recovering to get back to winning ways, that makes matches and feuds interesting.
By showing their shortcomings and vulnerabilities, it can be used in a later time, say in a big title match or at this weekend's Survivor Series match, to build a story around.
