#1 AJ Styles is likely to defend the US Title against Braun Strowman at Clash of Champions
While the United States Championship match ended without a satisfying result last week, the scenario was similar this week. Braun Strowman got another shot at the title this week but he was disqualified following a misunderstanding from the referee. As a result, AJ Styles retained the title and the fight ended in a bizarre fashion.
Following the interference from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson last week, the two men were banned from the ringside. This episode's match brought out the best out of the both Superstars as the Phenomenal One gave a tough fight to the Monster.
Yet, just as the match was heading to a finish, Gallows and Anderson came out to rescue Styles when the referee was down on the floor after getting unintentionally hit during the fight. However, Strowman fought back and hit the members of The O.C. with chair shots until he was disqualified by the official, who assumed that Strowman was attacking Styles with the chair.
Since we are less than three weeks away from Clash of Champions, Styles is unlikely to get a new challenger. The Monster is already scheduled to fight his Tag Team partner Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship and will also defend the Tag Team Titles against Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.
If Strowman faces Styles at Clash of Champions, the former could wrestle three times on the same night.
