4 things WWE must do to ensure Ronda Rousey's success

It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing for Rousey since her arrival in WWE

It has been more than a month since Ronda Rousey debuted as a Superstar on WWE's Royal Rumble PPV. However, it is safe to say that things haven't exactly been going very well for the former UFC Champion.

On her debut, Ronda entered the arena to a rousing cheer, got in the ring with the two Women's Champions and winner of the Royal Rumble Asuka, and just pointed at the WrestleMania sign. It definitely was one of the best debuts of all time.

Since then though, things have gone slightly downhill with messed up promos, botches, and underwhelming segments. It is not too late though, because Rousey's star power, that she earned in UFC, still ensures a loud pop whenever she comes out to the ring.

That being said, here are five things WWE must start doing immediately, to get Ronda Rousey over with the fans.

#1 No mic time for now

She definitely needs a mouthpiece
Ronda Rousey's speech at the Elimination Chamber was hard to watch

The first time Ronda Rousey spoke to the WWE Universe in the ring, was at the Elimination Chamber during her contract signing segment. It is safe to say that it was cringeworthy. Within a minute or so, it was very apparent that Ronda was very green on the mic and it got more and more difficult to watch as she continued. Even WWE seem to have realized this as they have edited out the entire segment of Ronda talking, on their official YouTube channel video.

Even if we excuse it as her first promo, there still doesn't seem to be much improvement as she dropped the ball yet again on Raw this past week. Ronda was supposed to reveal Stephanie McMahon as her opponent at the end of a drumroll but ended up blurting it out a few seconds too early.

The best thing to do for now is to stop giving Rousey the mic and just have her show up and be a silent badass. Sticking a manager with her might do wonders too.

#2 Hit the performance centre

It has been rumored that Ronda Rousey has already been training for a few months now at WWE's Performance Center. In fact, in a special package on Raw, some footage of her training was included.

It is obvious that WWE wouldn't let someone wrestle a match at WrestleMania without any sort of training in pro wrestling and it seems the same is true for Ronda Rousey. However, the question is, will it be enough? Other wrestlers go through months and even years of grueling training over at the PC and then on the developmental brand NXT. Rousey has skipped these steps to directly go on to the main roster.

ECW and WWE veteran Tommy Dreamer even took to Twitter to point out a slight botch from Rousey when she hit Triple H with a Samoan Drop this past week on Raw. Let us hope there aren't any more botches at the 'Show of Shows'.

#3 Select the right feud

The
The Goddess can be the perfect opponent for Ronda Rousey

A major part of any feud is the promos used to build up the actual match. Now if there is no proper build, even a good match can seem slightly underwhelming. So what must WWE do when one of their top performers is not too good on the mic? Make sure the other Superstar in the feud is a good talker.

It will be an understatement to say Alexa Bliss is great on the mic. She is one of the best in all of WWE presently and is a good enough talker to build enough heat for any of her matches. So, post-WM, WWE must choose opponents for Ronda Rousey who can do the talking, putting across Rousey as the silent killer, who lets her performance do the talking.

Alexa Bliss seems tailor-made for such a feud, as opposed to, say, Nia Jax.

#4 Have Rousey earn her spot

Ronda Rousey, WWE, Elimination Chamber,
Rousey's debut overshadowed Asuka's win

The Women's Revolution in the WWE did not happen by accident. These Superstars have worked very hard and are finally getting the recognition they deserve. That being said, in order to avoid Ronda being seen as 'entitled' or being pushed way too hard, WWE must make The Arm Collector work her way to the top.

Her amazing work in UFC cannot be discounted, but this is a whole other industry full of women who have scratched and clawed their way to the top. So Rousey being handed over the imaginary brass ring might make the fans turn on her, and make them feel that she hasn't earned her spot yet.

Some fans are already annoyed that Ronda Rousey's debut at the Royal Rumble overshadowed Asuka's history-making win in the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match.

WWE must tread carefully going ahead.
