Just like the Hardcore Championship, a TV Championship makes it easy for WWE to ensure championship matches on television regularly; if nothing else, it elevates the stakes and entertains the audience.
While the crowd at pay-per-views is on par, the weekly ratings have declined by a considerable margin from last year. WWE needs to bring back its viewers, and a TV championship seems like a positive step in that direction.
#1 Super ShowDown championship
Remember when last year Braun Strowman won the Greatest Royal Rumble, he received a trophy and a Greatest Royal Rumble championship title which gets defended annually only at the Saudi Arabia show.
WWE changed the name of the PPV to Super ShowDown which they used for their Australian show, but it still features the 50-man Battle Royal.
Mick Foley could showcase the newest title for this year's Battle Royal which the winner would receive. Like mentioned earlier, the stakes are raised in storyline by simply introducing a title in the mix.
