Going by the work Asuka put in during her time in NXT, there was little doubt she would become the champion in whichever brand she was promoted to.
However, after being on the main roster for quite some time, Asuka has found herself far from the championship. Her undefeated streak saw her reach new heights in the WWE, and make waves across the industry.
WWE watered down her rise quite easily by making her taste defeat at the hands of their favorite women’s talent Charlotte, and later brought her down to the mid-cards.
Not only did this affect her position on the main roster, but it also affected her popularity and connection with the fans. After winning the first ever women's Royal Rumble, no one expected the fall of Asuka this quickly.
Even though Asuka is far from the title picture at the moment, there still remains hope that The Empress of Tomorrow will rise once again and win the women’s championship.
