4 ways WWE can use Nia Jax in the upcoming episodes

Nia Jax: Blink and miss or a definite hit?

Nia Jax comes from a long line of wrestling pedigree. It would not be wrong to say that wrestling runs in her blood. While she was a newbie to wrestling when she started in 2012, Nia has come a long way. When she arrived on the scene in 2016, Nia was given a massive push and all signs indicated that she is going to be a force to be reckoned with. One of six NXT wrestlers to make their way to the WWE, Nia Jax had officially arrived.

Making quick work of Britt Baker, Jax was immediately presented as a threat in the WWE women’s division. While all of this is still true, it seems that WWE's creative team is now indecisive about Nia's role in the roster. She is still dominant but her dominance isn't being backed up with any relevant wins or storylines.

Now that 2017 is almost over, here are four ways WWE could salvage Nia and indulge her in relevant story-lines in the coming year.

#4 Monster Heel

Nia Jax Women’s 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match

This is probably the most discussed and the most obvious way to take with Nia Jax. While some might argue that this is actually the road being taken, the booking so far has been fairly inconsistent. The pace has to be steady or all the destruction she causes will not be enough to cement her place as a mainstay. Most of the women on the roster do not look like they would hold well in a bout against Nia Jax and WWE can work this in their favour by turning her into a monster heel to the tune of Braun Strowman.

Right now, one of the major issues with the Nia Jax character is the lack of any individualization. On the whole, her character feels very generic. A proper heel turn would be a good way to flesh out the character some more. Sure, it can be argued that her turning on Alexa Bliss was a heel turn of a sort, but the booking for that was flimsy at best.

Remember Nia Jax in 2016 Survivor Series? That is the level of dominance and anger that is required to pull her back up into the limelight, even if her exit wasn't that great. Tapping out to an armbar really wasn't how that exit should have been booked. Similarly, the women's survivor series 2017 had so much potential for showing Nia off as a force to be reckoned with. The Tamina/Nia face off started brilliantly with both superstars knocking other teammates off as a power move. The laydown went really well for the next two minutes, but again had a disappointing end in a count-out. WWE really needs to fine-tune their approach to handling this superstar if they want to establish her as a heel.

#3 Enzo Amore's muscle

Nia Jax has a surprising encounter with Enzo Amore: Raw, Dec. 4, 2017

Since WWE insists on putting their most dominant female superstar in a romantic storyline as indicated by 11th December's Raw, they should at least try to salvage it by making Nia Jax more than just a blink and miss love interest. Enzo Amore is the perfect superstar for this as he could use Nia Jax as a shield against the Cruiserweight Divison.

Mixed gender matches have been banned since the dawn of the PG era, but Nia could possibly be Enzo's secret weapon and attack the Cruiserweight division backstage. This would keep Nia relevant as well as give the WWE management some time to conjure ideas as to Nia's future.

#2 Beef with The Authority

E
Not entirely unprecedented

This is a bit of a natural progression. After being overlooked and being booked in random matches, Nia Jax can have a lot of bones to pick with The Authority.

This is also a useful approach to stall for time with Nia Jax without fading her away. This could result in a bit of a babyface or anti-hero run for Nia Jax as the woman to take down the boss. This storyline has been done before for Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon but it was a lukewarm storyline at best.

If WWE is to pull this one off successfully a lot more reality would be required. If Stephanie can't wrestle, a faction could be formed as the protectors of the princess. So instead of being in a head-on rivalry with Stephanie, Nia Jax is actually in rivalry with other superstars. This is a good storyline to follow not only for Nia but also superstars like Dana Brooke or Alicia Fox who aren't currently involved in any storylines.

#1 WWE Woman's Champion

It might be a long road to getting here as Nia needs to be a dominant force within the company again, but with a little buildup, this is not entirely implausible. When she came into the company Nia had almost no wrestling experience but with persistent hard work and cultivating her natural strength, she has become a serious future contender for the title.

All that is needed is to establish her as a major player once more.
