The WWE Creative team likes to shake things up on the weekly episodes by having a face superstar turn heel or a heel superstar turn to the light. In the past few months, superstars like the Big Show, Daniel Bryan, Nia Jax, and Bobby Lashley have unexpectedly turned heel, while Braun Strowman who had a short heel stint to put Roman Reigns over, turned face once again after The Big Dog's impromptu exit.
Both shows need an equal balance of faces and heels to put on mouth-watering content, but SmackDown currently has a lot more heels than faces, and with a beloved babyface like Daniel Bryan joining the dark side, the blue brand is short of credible faces now.
Some turns on the RAW side would also help freshen things up on the flagship show as well. Here are the 4 superstars who could turn face before 2018 ends.
#4 Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre formed an unlikely alliance way back in April, and the WWE Universe expected this to be a stepping stone for The Scottish Psychopath. However, the bond has lasted pretty long, and it seems like Drew will betray Dolph sooner rather than later.
In the duo's recent altercation with Finn Balor, the WWE Creative smartly sowed the seeds of a turn by having McIntyre saying, "You must first defeat Dolph Ziggler to force me to lower my standard and think about you".
McIntyre is destined to be the next big thing in the WWE, and the writers would not want to have Dolph Ziggler by his side every time, so expect McIntyre to turn on him very soon. Also, Ziggler has been portraying a heel character on TV for a long time, and it would be great for The ShowOff to turn face, and shake things up on RAW.
#3 Sonya Deville
Mandy Rose has been teasing a break-up with her partner Sonya Deville on the SmackDown side. She eliminated Deville from the Evolution Battle Royal, and also questioned her presence in the team, as General Manager Paige ignored Mandy Rose for the team.
She pulled off a spectacular heel promo on the UK special episode of SD Live where she literally buried the entire women's division single-handedly on the mic.
This explosion could lead to the face turn of Sonya, as Mandy has been given the villain's role in this story-line. The former Absolution members could have a good feud before they move on, and turning Sonya heel after a short face stint would make no sense.
The WWE Creative should continue using her as a face superstar since the SD Live women's division already has Becky Lynch, Peyton Royce, Nikki Cross, Billie Kay, and Mandy Rose as the heels.
#2 The Miz
With AJ Styles seemingly participating in the WWE MMC II final at the TLC PPV, the new WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan, would need a new challenger, and who better than his old rival, The Miz? We all know that The Miz has unfinished business with The Bearded G.O.A.T after the way he stole the #1 contender-ship from him at WWE Super Show-Down in October.
The Miz has always been cheered by the WWE Universe despite him playing a heel character on WWE TV, and would accept his face turn with open hands.
Bryan has always been the face feuding with The Miz, and a change of characters would add the next chapter in this epic rivalry. Also, The Miz has been lately winning his matches clean, which shows that a face turn is on the cards for The A-Lister.
#1 Big Show
Big Show has been one such character whose next turn can never be predicted. He returned to SmackDown as a face, lost to Randy Orton on his return, and turned heel the next week to align himself with Cesaro and Sheamus.
The World's Largest Athlete helped the European duo capture the SD Live tag team championships after attacking The New Day. However, this alliance cannot be expected to last long since Big Show could turn on the duo anytime.
