WWE will have to make a decision on the Women's Tag Team Title, following the injury of Jade Cargill. Chief Content Officer Triple H will either strip Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill off the title and have a tournament to crown new champions or he will find a new tag team partner for the EST of WWE.

In case Triple H goes with the first option, then fans could see a 47-year-old former WWE star come out of retirement and reunite with a former tag team partner to become the new Women's Tag Team Champions.

This superstar is Layla. She has been out for nearly a decade after her decision to retire in July 2015. However, she recently teased a comeback, sharing her desire to compete at the women's Royal Rumble match.

At the same time, she said she wanted a reunion with Michelle McCool for one final run. The duo worked as a tag team for a couple of years (2009-2011) and were known as LayCool.

Speaking on the No Name Wrestling podcast, the former Divas and Women's Champion opened up about possibly reuniting with Michelle McCool.

"I would honestly come back to do a LayCool reunion. If that is possible and that is something that could happen, why not? It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We had a lot of fans when we were together. I would love to reunite with my best friend just one more time," she said. [h/t Sportskeeda]

Whether we will see a LayCool reunion will depend on what decision WWE will make on the future of the Women's Tag Team Title.

Layla explains why she wants a WWE comeback

The former Divas and Women's Champion followed a different path after her retirement. She didn't stay in the business and moved in a different direction.

During her interview with the No Name Wrestling podcast, Layla explained why the time could be now for her comeback.

"Now there is [a chance]. Before, absolutely 100 percent no. I was not open to anything, I wanted a break, I wanted to get away. But now, absolutely. Before I get, like, too old and I can’t come back and do anything. Yeah, one more time," Layla said. [h/t Sportskeeda]

Friday on SmackDown, the creative team should offer more details on what is next for the Women's Tag Team Title, which could open the way for a Layla return.
