Triple H has been with WWE for 25 years now and has been involved in a lot of things that were not reported. Today, we cover a few backstage stories about Hunter that are not widely known and could spring a surprise for the readers.

Did you know that Triple H was involved in the Montreal Screwjob? He even was in legal trouble after delivering his first pedigree! All that and more as we look at the 5 backstage stories about Triple H you won't believe:

#5 - Triple H almost got fired in 1996

Triple H joined WWE in 1995 and if it wasn't for Vince Russo, he might have not lasted in the company for 25 months.

The former WCW Champion revealed that backstage personalities were so angry with Triple H for breaking kayfabe that they wanted him fired. The Game reportedly went to the ring and hugged Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels while he was a heel in the storyline.

Russo recalls that Nash and Hall were leaving WWE for WCW and Michaels was the champion when the incident took place at Madison Square Garden.

"Curtain Call happened at Madison Square Garden. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall went to WCW. Shawn Michaels was the champion, so they weren’t going to touch him. So, who was going to be the whipping boy? Triple H. They were gonna bury Triple H, and they were gonna torture Triple H. And they were gonna humiliate Triple H.”
"And they were going to make his life miserable for doing that one thing. And because I was there, I was able to say, 'What are you guys, children? First of all, nobody believes wrestling is real. So, you’re getting all upset with this freaking ‘Curtain Call.’ I mean, at the time, Bruce Prichard and Jim Cornette wanted Triple H fired. They wanted him fired. That’s how pissed off they were."

It is a good thing Russo had Triple H's back or else we might not be working on this article today.

#4 - The infamous Katie Vick storyline

Triple H and Kane were involved in one of the worst storylines ever in the history of WWE. The Katie Vick storyline is easily something that comes to the minds of the WWE Universe when people talk about 'WWE going too far'.

While everyone knows that happened in the storyline, it is a shock to learn that the peak of the feud was actually shot in a funeral home. The segment which involved Triple H mimicking Kane and working with a corpse was actually shot in a funeral home and not a studio.

WWE then released a statement stating that it was just shot to make Triple H a more antagonizing character. The WWE Chairman was the driving force behind this storyline as he wanted more soap-opera-like storyline in the company at that time.

One more interesting twist in the tale was that this storyline was planned to introduce Scott Vick. However, it was later changed to Kane vs Triple H with the Big Red Machine being Katie Vick's boyfriend.

#3 - Backstage fight with Daniel Bryan

Triple H has always been looking out for the safety of the WWE Superstars. One big thing that happened in 2013 was during a match between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton.

The Planet's Champion suffered a legitimate injury during a No Disqualification match and was clearly not at his best. Triple H spotted this from backstage and instructed the referee to call off the match.

The match was instantly called off and Randy Orton was declared the winner. Daniel Bryan was visibly unhappy, made his way backstage swiftly, and confronted Triple H.

As per reports, the two got into a heated argument and had to be split up. Luckily, Bryan understood the situation and apologised to The Game.

The heated backstage incident was converted into a storyline soon and they were involved in a feud. It was also the start of the 'YES! Movement' – something the WWE Universe still fondly remembers.

Hunter was on the lookout for Bryan and took him to the heights at WrestleMania 30.

#2 - First ever pedigree lands Triple H in legal trouble

Triple H has been using the pedigree ever since the start of his WWE career and we are lucky that it was not banned. The move was executed on a jobber back in 1995 and he had no clue how to sell it.

The incident took place back in 1996 - a rough year for Triple H in WWE. This was the 2nd controversy he was involved in that year and it is a good thing that Vince Russo convinced Bruce Prichard and Jim Cornette not to fire The Game.

Marty Garner reportedly was not informed about how the move was to be executed and ended up with a damaged neck. He claimed that he tried to sell it as an upper hook suplex and landed on his head.

He sued the company immediately but luckily for Triple H, it was settled out of court. The move was also not banned by WWE and thus it is still being used by triple H and even Seth Rollins occasionally.

#1 - Involvement in Montreal Screwjob

The Montreal Screwjob was Triple H's idea according to Shawn Michaels. The Heartbreak Kid revealed in his book that The Game was the first one to pitch it but his involvement in it has been kept low-key for a long time.

The storyline is easily one of the most famous ones in the history of wrestling, let alone WWE. The incident made Vince McMahon the most hated person in the wrestling community while Shawn Michaels and Vince Russo were also blamed for it.

“F**k him! If he won’t do business, then you do business for him.”

Triple H reportedly sealed the fate for Bret Hart and was the driving force behind the storyline's controversial end. However, Vince McMahon did all he can to protect Triple H and took the blame for it. McMahon did not want him to get the heat and ensured that nobody, at that time, knew about The Game's involvement.

Triple H has done a lot in WWE, and there are a lot more things he might have up his sleeve for us soon!
