Christian and Chris Jericho had a classic heel vs heel match on RAW in 2004

2004 was an interesting time for both Christian and Chris Jericho. Both had been heels for more than two years straight but were heading in different career directions.The former was given his first serious singles push in the company that year with two Intercontinental title reigns and a persona repackage.

Y2J's stock had begun to fall from his halcyon days as the first ever Undisputed Champion and creative frustrations would lead to an exit from the company in 2005. The two were also tag team champions in 2003 and had developed an on-off alliance onscreen.

This would lead to IC Champion Christian appearing on Y2J's highlight reel - one thing led to another and RAW GM Stone Cold would book a match between the two for the IC title. The two put on a great match - showcasing their amazing work rate and ring chemistry. Both would cheat multiple times in the match, employing illegal chokes and other underhanded tactics.
