WrestleMania 29 took place on April 7, 2013. The event emanated from inside MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey with a record crowd of 80,676 members of the WWE Universe in attendance.

Despite taking place in New Jersey, the WrestleMania 29 set featured several major landmarks associated with New York. The stage featured the iconic images of the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge.

As WrestleMania 29 took place completely outside, the ring was once again covered with a steel structure and tarpaulin to combat any bad weather. However, in keeping with the New York theme, a replica version of the Statue of Liberty was also housed above the ring on top of the steel structure.

WrestleMania 29 is perhaps best remembered for featuring the WrestleMania rematch between John Cena and The Rock in the main event. The Rock and Cena had previously squared off the year prior in a match billed as "once in a lifetime." However, 12 months later, the duo faced off once more, but this time the WWE Championship was on the line. John Cena eventually defeated The Rock to capture the WWE Championship in the main event with The Great One "passing the torch" to Cena in the process.

WrestleMania 29 also saw featured matches such as The Undertaker maintaining his WrestleMania undefeated streak by defeating CM Punk and Triple H extending his WWE career after defeating Brock Lesnar in a No Holds Barred Match.
