#2. This could be the best case scenario for The Fiend

In all honesty, Roman Reigns defeating The Fiend at WWE WrestleMania 36 for the Universal Championship would have been a worse than his loss to Goldberg. Not only is that evident by the resentment that Reigns would receive for ending the character's streak, it would also make a mockery out of The Fiend character on the company's biggest stage.
Of course, some fans are going to argue that The Fiend's loss at Super Showdown wasn't much better, but it wasn't as bad as losing on the Grandest Stage of Them All would have been. It also gave the company an opportunity to set up John Cena versus The Fiend, which at least gives the character chance to rebound immediately.
One wrong move ruined his entire WWE career - Watch Now!
In the end, The Fiend not being in the title picture at WrestleMania 36 is heartbreaking, but not as heartbreaking as it would have been if he lost at The Show of Shows. Luckily, the company seems to have avoided all of that with The Fiend's surprise loss at Super Showdown and now can focus on rebuilding him again.
