Karrion Kross has been built as one of the toughest Superstars in WWE NXT. NXT pushed Kross initially, but the Superstar suffered an injury after winning the NXT Championship and had to relinquish the title.

WWE is looking to build the Superstar once again rather than catapulting him to the NXT title picture, and he was put into a storyline with Santos Escobar. The NXT Cruiserweight Champion tried his best to get away from The Herald of Doomsday but was made to compete against him this week.

Kross had to fight off not just Escobar, but the rest of Legado del Fantasma in the No Disqualification match, but still managed to come out on top after a brutal fight. The Herald of Doomsday manhandled all three men and defeated the NXT Cruiserweight Champion with ease.

While WWE did well to build Kross in the storyline and the match, it was Escobar who got sacrificed to put the former NXT Champion over. Did WWE make the right decision by sacrificing Escobar to Kross on NXT?

WWE could have given Kross another top Superstar rather than the leader of the cruiserweight division to tear apart. The loss has reduced Escobar’s value. As a result, it seems like Escobar won’t be able to rise above the cruiserweight division against the heavyweights of WWE.
