Pete Dunne, Kyle O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano competed in a massive Triple Threat Match early on WWE NXT. All three men were looking for a chance to challenge Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship at TakeOver: In Your House.

While KOR had the upper hand in the contest, Adam Cole came out of nowhere to attack his former best friend. He also took out Dunne, the official and Gargano to end the match for good.

Later in the night, Cole came out to lay his claim to an NXT Championship opportunity. Cole is widely regarded as one of the best NXT Champions of all time, but he hasn’t been on top of his game in recent months.

Does Adam Cole deserve another shot at the NXT title despite not having done anything significant in recent months? Why did Kross and William Regal agree to add Cole to the title picture for TakeOver?

Cole is undoubtedly one of the best WWE Superstars going today. However, there is no real reason why he should be added to the mix at a time when the likes of Dunne and KOR have done a lot more to reach the NXT Championship picture.
