The Road to WrestleMania is taking shape

The Road to WrestleMania is always an exciting time for the WWE fans who wait for an entire year to witness this visual extravaganza. This time of the year ignites tons of rumours which influences mindset on future things to come.

While some matches are set in stone for WrestleMania 34, there are some that are still being booked or on the verge of being shelved courtesy of injuries. So, let's sum it all up and witness what made the news this week and what didn't.

Here are five biggest WWE stories this week.

#5 Goldberg could return to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Da Man is scheduled to shock the world

Bill Goldberg is an iconic name in professional wrestling history and, has been able to transcend generations with his popular personality and heroic abilities. He had a successful run with the company in 2016 which saw him win the Universal Championship. 'Da Man' has been inducted into the Hall of Fame (class of 2018) and, is set to headline that class which ignited the rumours of his potential retirement as an in-ring performer.

However, WWE are interested in bringing back 'The Icon' for a sensational victory in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in order to raise the stock of the match and marketability of the event. This is considered being a tactical business move by the company to promote the HBO sports documentary on Andre the Giant and the promotion of the match could open more gates for the WWE as far as business is considered. So, to sum it up, Goldberg's victory is what is 'best for business' and, would definitely bring some much-needed attention to the Battle Royal.

#4 WWE Championship match at Fastlane will be a Fatal-4-Way

Who will face the King of Strong Style

SmackDown Live is the land of opportunity and has been able to provide deserving performers with a platform to shine but lately, it has turned its focus on the ongoing feud between Shane O'Mac and Daniel Bryan. After a sensational match between Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens ended in a Disqualification, courtesy of A.J. Styles, Bryan announced a triple threat match for the WWE Championship at WWE Fastlane. However, the decision was not well received by the Commissioner who is seen questioning Bryan's leadership abilities on a weekly basis.

Shane McMahon announced Dolph Ziggler Vs Baron Corbin with the winner being added to the WWE championship thereby making it a Fatal-4-Way at the PPV. It is highly unlikely that 'the Phenomenal One' will lose the title at the event and, will be ready to defend the championship against Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34. The inclusion of another participant could necessarily be to take the pin considering both Ziggler & Corbin, won't be in a bigger program at 'the Grandest Stage of Them All'.

#3 WWE are trying to bring back the People's Champion for WrestleMania

E
Could the Brahma Bull appear at WrestleMania?

There have been speculations regarding The Rock's return to WrestleMania 34 after Ronda Rousey made a sensational debut at the Royal Rumble. WWE are planning to set Ronda in a monumental feud with Stephanie McMahon which could elevate the latter as a mainstream star in the industry and, the inclusion of 'the Brahma Bull' for a potential match at 'the Show of Shows' could be the direction in which the company desires to go ahead.

The seeds were sown on WrestleMania 31 with a blockbuster confrontation between the Rock, Ronda Rousey, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. However, Rock's availability for the event is still not confirmed but, it seems likely that the company will try everything in its power to bring him back for a showdown at the Super Dome. This match is definitely going to be a big highlight of the event and it seems like the right time to pull the trigger on this feud.

#2 Seth Rollins to team up with Finn Balor for upcoming live events

E
The Demon & Architect will team up

Both the superstars have all the ingredients to headline WrestleMania this year and, it's a damn shame that they have been relegated to such an extent that it has become difficult to push them back to the main event picture. After the recent injury of Jason Jordan, Rollins is scheduled to team up with Finn Balor for upcoming live events to take on the Bar which only justifies how directionless they are at this moment.

Both of them teaming up would be appreciated by the fans but only if, that leads to a certain storyline considering Rollins & Balor need a perfect set-up before heading to 'the Grandest Stage of Them All'. WWE needs to elevate both the superstars in order to raise their stock for the upcoming blockbuster event at the Super Dome. Well, let's hope that this recent team up is not just a one-time affair.

#1 The Undertaker vs John Cena could start after the Elimination Chamber

Enter
The Phenom Vs the Franchise is still set in stone

There's no denying that this match could be the most popular match in history and, while there may be conflicting opinions regarding the in-ring quality, the company is still likely to push the envelope with this match at the Super Dome. However, there are reports stating from reliable sources that the feud is likely to start after the Elimination Chamber PPV which would set a monumental clash at 'the Grandest Stage of Them All'.

The fans have been waiting for this feud for a long time and, it's about time that the company brings two of it's biggest stars in a single frame for the biggest match in WWE's history. The match would not only elevate the interest amongst the fans but, would also be a perfect way to send off the Phenom who has entertained generations for 25 years.
