5 Blockbuster matches WWE can book using the Wild Card Rule

Lesnar vs Owens should be highly entertaining
Lesnar vs Owens should be highly entertaining

Ever since the Wild Card rule has been introduced, WWE has had several outstanding mixed brand superstar matches over the past few months. This idea has clicked well with fans across the globe, and the creative team so far has done an excellent job capitalizing upon this new rule.

WWE should continue using this Wild Card thing to book much more entertaining matches in the near future. Those matches have been booked well by the management, and the creative team has done justice to most of the wrestlers. In-fact, wrestlers are getting shots at cross brand titles, and it is spicing things up and is accelerating the ratings of their various shows. If WWE use this rule more wisely, they can outsmart most of their rivals way ahead in the near future.

Here are five such outstanding matches that WWE can book via the Wild Card rule.

#5 Brock Lesnar vs Kevin Owens

Owens could become the Universal Champion again
Owens could become the Universal Champion again

Kevin Owens is a former Universal Champion and is one of the biggest upcoming superstars of tomorrow. He is an extremely entertaining wrestler to watch and WWE would love to squeeze maximum benefit out of him. Therefore, it would be a superb idea to have Kevin Owens face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship title.

Of late, Kevin Owens has enjoyed immense popularity owing to his face turn, bombastic promos and his new finisher- a variation of the Stone Cold Stunner. Therefore, there is not one iota of doubt in anyone's mind, that his second run as the Universal Champion would be even better than his previous run.

Owens could give Brock Lesnar some serious competition and give the people their money's worth. Lesnar will have a tough time defending his title against the likes of Owens. We shall have to wait and see if this match happens or not.

#4 Finn Balor vs Ricochet

Ricochet and Balor are highly talented players

Both Ricochet and Finn Balor have both recently lost their US title and Intercontinental titles, respectively. At the moment, WWE needs to figure out a way to book these two multifaceted talents, and a good idea would be to simply have them face one another: Ricochet vs Balor would be a glorious encounter to watch.

These two wrestlers don't require much description to define their talents. Balor is the first ever Universal Champion in the WWE. Ricochet on the other hand, has evolved a lot and is one of the main attraction on RAW. If they face each other, ticket sales would skyrocket up and viewership would go sky high.

They can pull out almost anything mortal inside the ring. WWE must not waste them by booking in arbitrary matches, but rather book them against each other using the Wild Card rule. This match would be a treat for the entire WWE Universe.

#3 Roman Reigns vs EC3

Reigns against EC3 should be an action packed encounter
Reigns against EC3 should be an action packed encounter

When EC3 joined WWE, everybody expected him to become the next big thing in WWE. However, it is disappointing to see that WWE has booked him as a jobber, and is shown of late chasing the 24/7 Championship. He deserves better competition, and a good competitor for him would certainly be Roman Reigns.

Reigns vs EC3 would be a fiery inter-brand match and the WWE Universe would love to see this dream match happen. Both of them would go to any extent to win the match and they would bring the best out of one another. They both are former World Champions in their career (EC3 is a former Impact World Champion) and their match would be profitable from WWE's point of view.

Reigns's feud with Shane McMahon feels extremely pointless and the fans would be more eager to watch him fight EC3. It could be one of the biggest Inter-brand matches WWE has had in over a long time.

#2 AJ Styles vs Drew McIntyre

This would be a fabulous rivalry
This would be a fabulous rivalry

A.J. Styles is undoubtedly one of the best wrestlers of all time. He has faced several legends, Hall of Farmers and other many other stalwarts of the business throughout his career. However, he has not competed against someone like Drew McIntyre in singles competition. Therefore, WWE could have these two compete against one another and have McIntyre face AJ Styles for the United States title.

McIntyre is currently positioned as a sidekick to Shane McMahon, and that is a huge injustice to his talent. He deserves to be a champion, and, Styles vs McIntyre for the US title would be a perfect fix to this problem. It would be a tough battle for both competitors, as well, but it would be nothing short of a blockbuster match. It could headline PPVs. We hope this match takes place as soon as possible.

#1 Braun Strowman vs Kofi Kingston

Strowman could win his maiden world title in WWE
Strowman could win his maiden world title in WWE

Braun Strowman is one of those talents who has yet to lay his hands upon any World Championship (tag team gold not withstanding). He has had a few unsuccessful Universal Championship opportunities in the past, but has yet to receive any opportunity for the WWE Championship. Therefore, using the Wild Card leverage, WWE could very well book a title match between Strrowman and current WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.

Kingston has had a good run so far as the WWE Champion ever since he won the title at WrestleMania 35. He is likely, however, to drop the title anytime in the near future. It would be a good story line to make Strowman the next WWE Champio, by defeating Kofi. They have not had many encounters in the past and that would add towards the the unpredictability among the fans. Strowman would be a dominating champion and Kofi Kingston vs Braun Strowman would be delightful to watch.
