Asuka and Kairi Sane lost the Women's Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania on Saturday night, but it appears that Asuka could have been injured as part of the match as well. The Empress of Tomorrow wasn't directly involved in the finish, but she was involved in a pin attempt earlier in the match when she was wrestling Nikki Cross.
The former NXT star hit her usual spinning neck breaker and was looking for the win, but because this is Cross' usual finisher and WWE didn't want to make it look weak, Kairi Sane delivered an elbow from the top rope to break up the count but her timing also may have been off.
Look who just shut down all of Tony Khan's critics! More HERE.
Many members of the WWE Universe noticed that Asuka didn't kick out when she realized that Sane may not make it in time to break up the count. The edit that WWE had put in just proves that it would have been a three count if the referee had continued to count as well, but it's unknown which star is actually at fault.
