5 Careers Randy Orton derailed

Manu and Randy Orton

Randy Orton is a wrestling blueblood and wunderkind. In addition to being the son of "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Randy became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history when he won the World title at the age of 24. He's 37 now, and still going strong, but some of the people who the Legend Killer has left in the wake weren't so lucky. Here are five WWE careers that were derailed by Randy Orton.

#5 Manu

Do you remember Manu? Probably not, and Orton may be a reason why. Back in the day, Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase Jr. had a stable called The Legacy. Manu, the son of Wild Samoan Afa, was also part of that group briefly. In a shoot interview, Orton complained about Manu feeling like he didn't have to pay his dues, and before we knew it, Manu was gone from WWE.

Bray
Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton

#4 Bray Wyatt

This one is a bit of speculation, but one thing is for sure. Wyatt's momentum has completely disappeared since his feud with Orton over the WWE Championship. At WrestleMania 33, Orton and Wyatt had a match most-remembered for goofy images of bugs and stuff being projected onto the screen. Then, they had a "House of Horrors" match that was one of the worst things in WWE history. Orton's heart clearly wasn't into it, which may have helped hurt Wyatt as well. Bray could bounce back, but right now it doesn't look good.

#3 Kofi Kingston

Kingston shows that getting the kibosh from Orton doesn't have to kill your career entirely. Back in 2009, when Kingston was a singles wrestler with a Jamaican gimmick, he botched the ending of a match against the Legend Killer, which Orton did not take kindly to. In fact, you could even hear Orton yell "Stupid!" at Kingston on live TV. After that, Kingston floundered for years until he dropped the Jamaican shtick and joined New Day.

Orton accused Mr. Kennedy of being an unsafe worker

#2 Mr. Kennedy

Once upon a time, Mr. Kennedy was skyrocketing up the card for WWE. He even won the Money in the Bank briefcase. Unfortunately, he got hurt after that, and had to drop the briefcase to Edge. Then, things got worse when he botched a backdrop on Orton. Orton reportedly complained to Vince McMahon that Kennedy wasn't a safe worker, and shortly thereafter Mr. Kennedy was gone from WWE.

While Orton has had a lot of success during his career, it's hard to argue that it couldn’t have been better had he been able to stay out of his own way. He was once suspended for 60 days due to "unprofessional conduct," and later that same year he got his first suspension for violating WWE's Wellness Program. A few years later he got suspended for 60 days once more for his second violation. That put him at risk of getting one more suspension for a violation, which would have gotten him fired. Sure, 180 days out of a decade-plus career isn't a ton, but each time they killed Orton's momentum and kept him off TV and pay-per-views. Had Orton been more careful, who knows where his career could have gone?
