What is surprising about the SummerSlam 2019 is that the card does not have a single tag team match. All 10 confirmed matches for the show are singles matches, which highlights how WWE have neglected the tag team division, including the newly created women's tag team titles.

SummerSlam is the second most important PPV for WWE after WrestleMania, but this year's show feels like a major letdown due to the absence of tag team wrestling. Two tag team titles - RAW Tag Team title and the Women's Tag Team title, changed hands on RAW over the last two shows.

The tag team of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows won the RAW Tag Team titles last week when they defeated The Revival and The Usos, while Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross clinched the Women's tag team titles for the first time when they won a fatal four-way tag team elimination match.

WWE may add a tag team title match ahead of SummerSlam, but with no storyline or build, the match will be uninteresting and forced.
