Baszler's run at the Mae Young Classic was somewhat overshadowed by Ronda Rousey, who was ringside during each of her matches to support her friend. However, someone like Baszler could twist that around, claiming that Rousey only showed up to steal the spotlight before she was given a spot on the main roster, while Shayna Baszler had to climb her way to the top like everybody else.

A debuting Baszler could choke out Rousey after a successful title defence, then spend the next four weeks stalking Rousey while intimidating and breaking down the rest of Raw's roster.
