Shayna Baszler could use Ronda Rousey as a stepping stone in her main roster debut

Shayna Baszler was initially looked down upon by many fans when she debuted at the Mae Young Classic. However, she quickly proved herself with multiple great performances worthy of an NXT Champion. And it wasn't long until she did indeed win the NXT Woman's Title, putting away Ember Moon at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans.

Baszler's run at the Mae Young Classic was somewhat overshadowed by Ronda Rousey, who was ringside during each of her matches to support her friend. However, someone like Baszler could twist that around, claiming that Rousey only showed up to steal the spotlight before she was given a spot on the main roster, while Shayna Baszler had to climb her way to the top like everybody else.

A debuting Baszler could choke out Rousey after a successful title defence, then spend the next four weeks stalking Rousey while intimidating and breaking down the rest of Raw's roster. Not to mention a title match between two former MMA fighters could be a fantastic bout that would not only solidify Rousey's title reign but give the fans a reason to take Baszler as a serious threat almost immediately.
