5 facts and predictions for the Greatest Royal Rumble show

It takes place in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
It takes place in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

WWE is all set to host a humongous event on April 27!

The Greatest Royal Rumble show will be held at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A spiritual successor to events like the beast in the east or the Madison Square Garden special.

At first, we had thought that this event will just be a passable glorified live event but with each new announcement, the calibre of this show keeps increasing.

The ultra-conservative nature of the Kingdom has cast its shadow on the show as there are no women's matches on the card. Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss fought a historic match a few weeks ago in the UAE but no similar history will be created at this event.

Despite such setbacks, it seemingly will be an enjoyable show, so here are five facts and predictions for the Greatest Royal Rumble show.

#5 The Undertaker's next match

Y2J and Phenom will clash heads on the show
Y2J and Phenom will clash heads on the show

The Undertaker was set to face Rusev in a casket match on April 27th (Also known as Rusev Day!)

But for undisclosed reasons, Rusev was replaced with Chris Jericho. Even the most dedicated fan of Rusev will not be disappointed at this replacement.

Chris Jericho was originally set to compete in the 50 man Royal Rumble match but the rumoured backstage heat on Rusev and his subsequent removal from the Casket Match has given way for this dream match.

The Undertaker is fresh from the 'squash' match against John Cena at WrestleMania 34 and Jericho is making his in ring return for WWE after the five star match against Kenny Omega on NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom show.

Prediction

The Undertaker is the favourite here, seeing the match is a casket match.

#4 Mania rematch

Nakamura's low blow was a surprise to many!
Nakamura's low blow was a surprise to all

Nakamura's character is at an interesting turn. The heel turn against the ultra -popular AJ Styles has given his character a new breath of life.

The greatest Royal Rumble show will feature a rematch between the two for the WWE Championship. Some consider it to be too early for a rematch but whenever Styles and Nakamura enter the squared circle, they produce magic.

Their WM 34 match was by no means a bad one but it certainly did not exceed expectations.

So there is hope that the two can reproduce the magic of their WrestleKingdom match with their renewed aggression.

Prediction

Nakamura surprises everyone with a victory, possibly with a heelish tactic.

#3 The most unpredictable match

Two powerhouses are set to collide!
Two powerhouses are set to collide!

This is probably the most unpredictable match on the card. Both men lost their respective matches at WM 34. Triple H lost to Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle in a mixed tag team match while John Cena lost his one-sided affair with The Phenom.

Two greatest and most polarising figures of the past few decades, two men accused of burying fresh talent, two multi-time world Champions are set for a collision.

This wont be the quickest and most technically brilliant match of the show, but the combined star-power is enough to make this encounter mouth watering!

Prediction

Triple H beats John Cena. Two consecutive losses on big stages will make Cena desperate and this desperation promises a fresh turn in Cena's character.

#2 The beast locked in a cage

Lesnar and Reigns had a dissapointing match at WM 34
Lesnar and Reigns had a disappointing match at WM 34

The main event of WrestleMania 34 was the most disappointing match of the night.

The commentators call it 'the most physical match in years' but that does not make it true. It was a slow and drawn out match that the gashing Reigns could not save.

The result was surprising but the match itself was boring.

But the Beast and the big dog fight again, this time locked inside a steel cage. The added stipulation could make the match better than the Mania encounter.

Prediction

Lesnar wins again. A surprise win for Roman is very probable but the recent return of Bobby Lashley makes me think otherwise.

#1 More rumble than ever before

The 50 man royal rumble is a historic match!
The 50 man royal rumble is a historic match!

The 50 man Royal Rumble match will probably include the entire male roster on both Raw and SmackDown!

The list of entrants announced include Daniel Bryan, Kane, Braun Strowman, Big Show, Bray Wyatt, Kurt Angle, Elias, Goldust, Titus o' Niel, Apollo, Baron Corbin, The New Day, Shelton Benjamin, Chad Gable, Sin Cara, Mojo Rawley and Dolph Ziggler.

That's just a fraction of the possible entrants which will include regulars aswell as surprise part-timers.

This match will have all the classic rumble moments and will be a crowd pleaser. Stars such as the Big Show are making their return, and many returns are rumoured like Rey Mysterio.

The benefit of winning the match has not been announced yet, will it be a title shot? Will it be just bragging rights? Only time will tell.

Predictions

There are 50 entrants to choose from, including several big stars. My prediction is that Daniel Bryan will win the match, announcing that he is back and ready for bigger things!

So that's it, what do you think about the event? What are your predictions?
