Could Dean Ambrose return to the blue brand?
Could Dean Ambrose return to the blue brand?

The Superstar Shake-Up changed the very landscape of WWE. One of SmackDown Live's biggest acquisitions was the Samoan Submission Machine known as Samoa Joe. While Joe still has unfinished business with a fellow Samoan from RAW at Backlash, we know what you're wondering. What's next for Samoa Joe?

This article shall attempt to answer your question. Samoa Joe brings an authenticity and ferocity that few others in WWE really possess. We're certain he could be one of SmackDown Live's most prominent players.

We shall attempt to list five Superstars Samoa Joe can face on the blue brand. Let us know your thoughts and if you'd like to see any dream matches featuring this lightning-quick monster.

Here is our list of names!

#5 AJ Styles

Perhaps no two other superstars have better chemistry
Perhaps no two other Superstars have better chemistry

WWE fans may be enthused at the thought of Samoa Joe mixing it up with AJ Styles. However, TNA fans have seen these two men clash one too many times during their illustrious careers. We've never really seen them collide on a WWE stage, though. Who wouldn't want to see these Superstars mix it up and amp it up once again?

Samoa Joe has even spoken about wanting to face AJ Styles in a WWE ring. AJ Styles is the ultimate babyface whom the fans root for and there is perhaps no better heel on SmackDown Live than Samoa Joe. Imagine the kind of long drawn out program that the two men could have.

As incredible as Samoa Joe is in the ring, what makes him unique is how personal he can make every single feud feel with his intensity. AJ Styles may need a credible challenger for his title after Shinsuke Nakamura, and who better than Samoa Joe to fit the role?

#4 Dean Ambrose

There is unfinished business between the two men
There is unfinished business between the two men

Lest you forget, The Shield reunion was ruined by one Samoan monster. Or at least, that's the story they told in storyline about Ambrose's unfortunate injury. Joe even rubbed it in to Renee Young's face, making fun of the fact that she had to provide for her husband now. There's a lot of bad blood between Ambrose and Joe and it certainly could result in a fantastic program down the line.

It was never made clear which brand Dean Ambrose would be joining upon his return. While he could always return to RAW, we have a feeling that he will be drafted to SmackDown Live to take care of this last piece of business. Ambrose vs Joe is a money feud.

We wonder if Ambrose will snap following the mind games that Joe plays with him, and turn heel down the line. A tag team with these two men may be an interesting prospect, right?

#3 Randy Orton

Could we see this dream match outside a video game?
Could we see this dream match outside a video game some day?

Randy Orton vs Samoa Joe is a match nobody thought they would ever see. While Orton has been Mr. WWE through and through, Joe carved out quite the career for himself outside the company for years. Now, it's finally possible to see the two men compete for the first time. They're not just in the same company, but in the same brand as well.

Orton has been in WWE for years and seemingly done it all in the business. He would benefit greatly from working with a fresh and absolutely dangerous opponent like Samoa Joe.

#2 Shane McMahon

Joe could take over the Owens-Zayn spot as Samoa Joe's antagonist
Joe could take over the Owens-Zayn spot as Shane McMahon's biggest antagonist

Shane McMahon may be an authority figure on paper, but he's an individual who always likes to be in the thick of things. McMahon makes it a point to be involved in the hottest feud on SmackDown Live, going from Survivor Series until WrestleMania. Samoa Joe and Shane McMahon could certainly have an interesting program.

The two men have a background in MMA and are excellent in promos too. They have never been opposed to working stiff and could complement each other's offensive arsenal. If booked right, this could very well be the feud of the year.

We would love to see these two men grapple with one another. They could also have a hardcore-style match considering both men are known for taking crazy amounts of punishment.

#1 Daniel Bryan

Some feuds start outside WWE and are never resolved
Some feuds start outside WWE and are never resolved

Few love anything in the world like Daniel Bryan loves wrestling. We were enthralled when he made his in-ring return at WrestleMania, after having been forced to retire prematurely owing to an injury. We are ecstatic that he's a full-time member of the current roster too. Moreover, Bryan is no stranger to Samoa Joe.

The two men have waged wars outside WWE. Their paths have led to a stage as grand as WWE and we're certain that if given the opportunity, they certainly will deliver. Bryan is our topmost pick for this list of opponents for Samoa Joe.

Whom would you put on the list? It must be mentioned that we even considered the master of the list, Chris Jericho if he has another run with the company.
