5 former WWE superstars who look better now than in their prime

Is there anything The Rock isn’t good at?

There is a trend that WWE superstars generally follow in their lives. They’re in top shape during their careers as professional wrestlers but then let themselves go upon retirement from the business.

It’s a natural thing where people feel the need to kick back, relax, and not work as hard on maintaining their physique after years of the same gruelling training schedules over and over again. They’ve definitely earned that break.

But, there are some who don’t quite go that way and instead strive to improve themselves upon leaving the wrestling business. Instead of growing old and fat after leaving the WWE, they dedicate themselves to maintaining and further improving their physical capabilities in order to lead the healthiest life possible and to look in great shape while doing it.

These are the men and women who don’t know the meaning of taking it easy and it has served them well in the years since they have left Vince McMahon’s company behind. So, without any further ado, here are 5 former WWE superstars who look better now than they did in their prime:

#1 The Rock

Today, Dwayne The Rock Johnson is one of the most recognisable names on the planet due to his incredible transition from wrestling to Hollywood. In fact, he is the highest-paid actor in the world.

A key part of this is that The Rock didn’t take things easy when he hung up his wrestling boots for a career in films. In fact, he decided to move forward and get in even better shape. Now, The Rock wasn’t exactly a slouch during his WWE days, remember.

But, this is nothing compared to what he looks like today. Having dedicated himself to improving his physical condition, The Rock was able to achieve eye-popping results and you can see the transformation above.

It’s easy to see why Dwayne Johnson is an inspiration for millions of people around the world today. The man does not know the meaning of quit and always strives to improve himself. Hats off to you, sir!

#2 Triple H

Trips and Stephanie work out together these days

Including Triple H on this list might be controversial for two reasons: 1) He is still a part-time member of the roster. 2) He was in great physical shape throughout his career. Well, I’ll address both those points as well.

For the first point, the key words there are “part-time” and Triple H barely wrestles anymore compared to the 300 days a year he spent wrestling in his prime. I think we can include him on this list.

For the second point, Triple H was always in good shape, yes, but he was never someone who was in great shape, as you can clearly see here:

Well, all that changed once he made the transition to his role as part of the WWE administration. Undergoing a gruelling new training regiment along with Stephanie McMahon, Trips has made a concentrated to effort to improve his physical conditioning and boy, has it worked.

Hunter looks to be in the shape of his life as you can clearly see above. Imagine if The Game had looked like this when he was actually still a full-time performer!

#3 Torrie Wilson

Yup, Torrie Wilson now has abs!

It’s not just the men who have made physical improvements in their post-WWE lives and there’s no better example of that than Torrie Wilson. The former Diva is one who invokes memories of the pre-PG Era of the WWE when women were all about the looks and not really about the wrestling.

In this world, Torrie was one of the most beautiful women to ever grace a WWE ring but one who always looked delicate as you can see here:

There was a very good reason she was afforded the opportunity to appear on the cover of Playboy magazine on multiple occasions and was a standard inclusion in any angle that needed women to be revealing.

All this has changed nowadays, though, as Torrie has become a fitness freak who has muscled up and won various fitness competitions. Gone is that delicate little flower from the WWE. Seriously, look at that picture above and tell me she doesn’t look even better today.

#4 Bruno Sammartino

Sammartino is now in his 80s

For our younger readers who might not be aware of the name, Bruno Sammartino is a legendary wrestler who made a name for himself in the WWE back when the company was still being run by Vince McMahon’s father.

An incredible wrestler though he was, Sammartino relied on his natural body strength instead of physically conditioning himself. He was always in good shape but never in great shape as you can see here:

Sammartino decided to change all that as he got older, though, and made a concentrated effort to make sure his age did not deteriorate his physical condition. Even in his 80s, the man is jacked like a truck and works out multiple times a week. You can see the picture above for proof of Sammartino's dedication to his body.

#5 CM Punk

Punk is in the shape of his life

Despite spending a number of years in the pro-wrestling business, CM Punk was never a guy who enjoyed working out and only maintained his body to the condition that was required for him to perform at a high level. Nothing more, nothing less.

Here’s proof of the fact:

All this has now changed as Punk has made his move over to MMA, though, as the sport demands physical perfection from those who compete. Despite a humbling loss in his UFC debut, Punk has never looked in better physical shape and the proof lies in the picture above.
