With the TLC pay-per-view, another year of exciting WWE programming is about to end. Many former superstars made their returns this year to boost viewership and to recreate the nostalgic moments for the fans, which they wait for.

However, 2018 was a year to forget for Vince McMahon and co. as WWE company’s main shows were receiving very low viewerships.

To make things well again, Vince McMahon has decided that he will be in power to control both brands on TV along with his son, daughter, and son-in-law.

So, we can expect that along with some new faces on the roster, we could also see many former big stars return. Though a sort of cold war is going on between the WWE and some of its former superstars but to make 2019 better, these superstars should be seen in the squared circle.

Without any further ado let’s have a look at the 5 WWE superstars who should return to WWE in 2019.

#5 Batista

The Animal has not wrestled in WWE since 4 years
The Animal has not wrestled in WWE since 4 years

Batista returned to WWE in 2013 in the Royal Rumble match and won it to earn a title shot at Wrestlemania. But, he left WWE in 2014. After a long hiatus he returned on the 1000th episode of SmackDown Live which featured a reunion of Evolution.

At the marquee show he teased a match with the game, Triple H. Since then, speculations are being made that Triple H will face the animal Batista at the grandest stage of them all, next year. It is unknown when and where Batista will return to WWE but we could see him before or after the Royal Rumble PPV to start the feud with Triple H.

Batista has also mentioned in some interviews that he wants another run in WWE and probably as a full-time wrestler. If Batista signs with WWE, an extra star factor will be added and it would really help to boost ratings of WWE. A guy who can get quality matches and has a desire to work with the company one more time, WWE should not waste time to book this superstar’s return as soon as possible and announce a match for Wrestlemania 35.

Bill Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016 after 12 long years and had a feud with Brock Lesnar which commenced at Survivor Series and ended at WrestleMania 33 where he was defeated in a Universal Championship match. The former WCW champion Goldberg’s short run was very exciting to watch.

Goldberg was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2018 where cleared that he would do whatever he could for the fans and also said never say never. He hinted that he could fight again in the squared circle. Recently, Goldberg opened about a potential return to the ring where he said that there’s still a possibility if he feels fit in a storyline.

WWE should bring back Goldberg in 2019 and set some dream matches for fans and accelerate WWE’s business with his appearance on the big pay-per views of the year. An appearance at Royal Rumble 2019 will be a great way to surprise the fans.

Former WWE champion, Alberto Del Rio is a talented wrestler who has high-quality wrestling skills, charisma and potential to give fantastic matches. Unfortunately, he left the WWE in 2016 due to his issues with WWE. Currently, he is working in the indies after getting fired from Impact Wrestling.

However, he said that he will definitely compete one more time in WWE ring before retiring. So 2019 could be that year for Alberto Del Rio where he could initiate his last stint in WWE and end his wrestling career in the WWE.

The doors of WWE are not closed for Mexican Aristocrat as he has good relations with Vince McMahon. Mr McMahon could invite him with a big deal to bring more star power in WWE.

The Rock is well known WWE superstar and Hollywood celebrity. Whether it is the stage of WWE or his life outside the pro wrestling world, he always receives a huge pop. Bringing the Brahma Bull back in 2019 will help in stabilizing the viewership rating of WWE.

The People’s Champ last wrestled in 2013 and has since then shifted his focus on movies. But currently, the rumours are rife that we could see The Rock wrestling next year and even for a long run this time. Most probably The Rock will make his shocking return at Royal Rumble 2019 and also could win the match to set up a match for WrestleMania 35.
