In 2013, Angle made a brief appearance in the dark comedy crime flick Pain & Gain featuring The Rock as one of the lead stars. At that time, Angle was employed to Total Nonstop Action (now Impact Wrestling). His role in the Michael Bay directed film was that of a prison inmate who engages in a fight with The Rock's character. Ali's love for pro wrestling dates back to when Randy Orton won a Battle Royal to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004. His current favorite wrestler is Cody Rhodes because he's the ultimate throwback babyface. He believes Rhodes has the Surfer Sting's passion, Bret Hart's prop-gifting schtick, a catchy theme like Hogan's, and a kid-friendly demeanor akin to John Cena's.
