The Undertaker made his WWE debut on this night, as a part of Ted Dibiase's team. This was a time when over the top characters were a norm. The character took off as no one had possibly imagined, and The Undertaker became a WWE mainstay for the next three decades. He defeated Jimmy Snuka at WrestleMania 7, a victory that kick-started The Undertaker's legendary undefeated WrestleMania streak. The Deadman went on to win his next 21 WrestleMania matches, until Brock Lesnar defeated him at WrestleMania 30.

The Undertaker's illustrious career has seen him innumerable deliver 5-star classics, but there's another aspect of him that has consistently terrified his opponents: the mind games. Over the course of the past 30 years, we have seen The Undertaker play a string of deadly mind games on his opponents. Let's take a look at 5 of those in the list below.


#5 The Undertaker takes Teddy Long for a ride

At Breaking Point 2009, The Undertaker was on the receiving end of a conspiracy, which saw CM Punk, referee Scott Armstrong, and Teddy Long recreating the infamous Montreal incident from 1997. This led to The Undertaker failing to win the World title from CM Punk.

A segment on SmackDown saw Long entering a limousine, only to find out that The Undertaker was driving the vehicle. A terrified Long screamed, as smoke began filling inside the backside of the car. The limo could be seen leaving the arena, with smoke, as well as Teddy's screams, coming out of the car. The following week, Long was brought to the ring in a coffin, soon after which he legalized Undertaker's Hell's Gate submission move, which had been banned for a while.

#4 The Undertaker brings Vince to his knees

One of the biggest storylines of the Attitude Era saw The Undertaker kidnapping Stephanie McMahon. This forced Vince McMahon to turn babyface for a short period of time and align with his longtime nemesis Stone Cold Steve Austin. Soon after, it was revealed that the higher power behind this entire ploy was none other than Vince McMahon himself. This resulted in Linda and Stephanie McMahon giving Stone Cold the position of CEO at the Titan Towers.

During the early stages of this angle, on an episode of Raw, The Undertaker took a teddy bear that belonged to Stephanie, set it on fire, and mocked Vince with it as the boss got on his knees, helplessly looking at the burning stuffed toy.


#3 The Undertaker breaks the ring

On the road to Royal Rumble 2006, Kurt Angle moved to SmackDown and won a battle royal to win Batista's World title, that he had relinquished due to an injury. Angle went on to face Mark Henry at the Royal Rumble PPV, and successfully retained his title. After the match, The Undertaker came out on a chariot, surrounded by druids.

He raised his hands, paused for a while, and suddenly lightening struck the ring on all four sides after Taker brought down his hands. As a terrified Angle watched, clutching the World title in his hands, the ring collapsed to the ground. The message was clear as day: The Undertaker had come back and wanted a shot at Angle's World title.

#2 The Undertaker drags Kane down

At SummerSlam 2010, The Undertaker returned and was Chokeslammed by Kane, kicking off a feud between the two brothers. They feuded for the next few months, over the World title. Kane defeated Taker at Night of Champions, Hell In A Cell, and finally at Bragging Rights, in a Buried Alive Match.

During the rivalry, The Undertaker appeared on an episode of SmackDown and interrupted a match between Randy Orton and Kane, helping Orton pick up a win. Soon after, The Undertaker came out from under the ring, tearing apart the mat in the process, and dragged Kane down to 'hell'.

At WrestleMania 21, The Undertaker defeated Randy Orton, with the latter returning the favor at SummerSlam 2005. The rivalry continued over the next several months, with The Undertaker playing a series of mind games on Randy and his father, WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton.

An episode of SmackDown saw Orton being hounded by the presence of The Undertaker on various occasions. One segment saw Taker appearing inside a washroom, as Orton saw him in a mirror. Then, while Orton was interviewed by Josh Matthews outside the arena, The Deadman took over the body and mind of Matthews and warned Orton of what was in store for him inside Hell in a Cell.
