In my opinion, WrestleMania 12 had one of the best main events in WrestleMania history. The legendary WWE feud between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels is probably the greatest of all time.
Their real-life animosity towards one another is well documented for the WWE universe in numerous promos and documentaries. But the truth was that they got the best of each other in the ring.
No other pair could have pulled off an endurance test like the 60-minute ironman match. This would really mark the beginning of Shawn Michaels as Mr. WrestleMania.
The Showstopper was known for his athleticism, highrisk maneuvers and entertaining in-ring storytelling.
The buildup to this match cast The Hitman as a grizzled veteran armed with technical prowess whereas HBK was the showstopper looking to fulfill a boyhood dream.
By dropping off the rooftop in a sliding harness as his entrance, it was an extension of the HBK character who would go on to thrill fans in the years to come.
