The King of the Ring tournament was arguably the Money in the Bank of its day

If you won the prestigious event, everyone took you seriously, with stars like Bret 'Hitman' Hart, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar and Booker T all going on to capture World Championship gold after being crowned King.
But in its last few iterations, the tournament was practically a death sentence, as stars like William Regal, Sheamus and the most recent king Wade Barrett all suffering post-coronation.
If the WWE was to bring the tournament back, it'd definitely have to mean something.
Put the crown on a Superstar who is going somewhere, rather than someone who you think it'll look funny to see in a literal crown.
And with the Women's Revolution constantly moving ahead, why not a Queen of the Ring down the line?
