recieved
an enormous push

Jinder Mahal shocked the world when he won the WWE Championship by defeating Randy Orton at Backlash in 2017. Mahal first worked in WWE as the Great Khali's storyline brother in law and manager before stepping into the ring as a wrestler.

He frequently lost to WWE superstars in squash matches and was a member of the comedy faction 3MB along with Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre and they continued losing to other superstars.

Unfortunately for Mahal, he was released in 2014 but returned to the company in 2016 and aligned himself with Rusev. He was moved to Smackdown following the Superstar Shake-Up and became number contender for the WWE Championship and went on to defeat Randy Orton at Backlash.

Mahal went on to main event Smackdown's branded PPVs until he lost the title to AJ Styles on an episode of Smackdown in November. WWE executives, especially Triple H are fond of Mahal and its only left to see what he will accomplish next.
