WWE Champion Kofi Kingston will defend his title this Sunday at Money in the Bank, when he will face off against former ally Kevin Owens. Owens turned on Kingston and Xavier Woods on SmackDown, which resulted in this match for the WWE Championship.
There has been a lot of bad blood between Owens and Kingston as The Prizefighter betrayed Kingston and Woods after siding with them as a babyface.
Owens and his friend, Sami Zayn, assaulted Kingston and Woods on the SmackDown go-home show of Money in the Bank. With the stakes so high and Owens showing in the past that he can use underhand tactics to get his way, the inclusion of a special guest referee, to call it straight down the middle and add some more drama to the match could be a good move.
