Shawn Michaels comes from a military family which means that when he was a child he moved around a lot. Michaels spent a lot of his childhood in Reading, Berkshire in England before he later moved and settled in San Antonio, Texas.

Michaels is best-known for his association with Texas but not many fans are aware of how much he moved around as a child. Michaels found a home within the WWE and actually chose to walk away from the ring so that he could spend the most important years of his son's life with him. Michaels admitted that following WrestleMania 25 he wanted to walk away because his son was growing up without him there and he was scared that he would miss out on his entire childhood.
