5 major Royal Rumble rumors you need to know

<p>
This Sunday will be historic

WWE heads to Philadelphia this Sunday to host a historical Royal Rumble and the fans cannot wait to witness this monumental event come to life. Being the first PPV of 2018, the Royal Rumble kicks off the Road to Wrestle Mania in splendid fashion and holds the utmost significance in the hearts of passionate WWE fans who are perhaps the most excited during this time of the year.

So, the WWE Universe must bottle up this zest & feeling of euphoria for Sunday where WWE not only hosts a stacked Men's Royal Rumble but also introduces the much deserved first ever Woman's Royal Rumble match.

So, before you anticipate the possibilities of the whole PPV, here are five major rumors you need to know

#5 Ronda Rousey's appearance remains doubtful

Will the Rowdy One shock the world this Sunday?

One of the main reasons there has been so much mainstream attention to the Royal Rumble 2018 lately, is the possible debut of 'the Arm Collector', Ronda Rousey. Imagine her entering the Rumble at a later stage in the match and decimating every single wrestler in the ring; it would genuinely blow the roof off the place.

While there could be no better way to debut Rousey than the Royal Rumble, it is unfortunate that her heavily rumored appearance remains doubtful for this Sunday.

The talented superstar was recently questioned by TMZ upon her chances of entering the Rumble this Sunday, when she vehemently denied signing a deal with WWE which only goes on to add fuel to the fire that she might not show up at Philly and be a part of this historical match.

But, if speculations are anything to believe, she still remains one of the favorites to win this Sunday. Well, let's hope that 'the Arm Collector' debuts this Sunday & puts the whole locker room on notice.

#4 Braun Strowman will not win the Universal Title

The Monster will not conquer the Beast this Sunday

Braun Strowman is perhaps the hungriest superstar in the locker room today and has taken Monday Night Raw by storm with his sheer viciousness and capricious personality. His constant improvement and growth as a professional wrestler is commendable and the Monster has all the momentum heading into a brawl this Sunday where he challenges to take away the Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar.

But, despite being involved in such a marquee match with Brock and Kane, the possibility of Strowman winning the Universal title seems a bit low considering the Beast is still scheduled to clash with 'the Big Dog' at WrestleMania 34 this year.

Moreover, recent rumors are suggesting that 'the Monster Among Men' is scheduled to face 'the A-Lister' Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at the Super Dome which only indicates that he won't be the last man standing this Sunday.

#3 The King of Strong Style has the odds in his favor

The King could be the last man standing

Shinsuke Nakamura holds within him an institution of offensive versatile wrestling and it does not surprise me at all that he is the favorite to win the Royal Rumble this year. 'The King of Strong Style' has been on the forefront of SmackDown Live and despite his poor booking on the main roster, he still remains the hottest commodity on the blue brand courtesy of his charismatic personality.

The fans and critics alike have been disappointed with Nakamura's booking, and now WWE has the chance to rectify his status as a top superstar when he heads to the Wells Fargo Center this Sunday with the WWE Championship on his mind.

He had a brilliant match this Tuesday against 'the Lone Wolf', with a display of some strong style wrestling that had been missing for a long time. If WWE capitalizes on his sheer versatility, then they definitely have a main event superstar who could carry the torch of SmackDown Live for foreseeable future.

A win for Shinsuke would seal the deal for a dream match with 'the Phenomenal One' at WrestleMania 34. Well, it's about time that the Rockstar burns the house that AJ Styles built.

#2 The Undertaker could return and challenge a major superstar

Will the Franchise answer to the Reaper?

The Undertaker is the most iconic superstar that has ever stepped foot in a WWE ring and holds the ability to grab the audience's attention every single time he enters the ring. It's a shame that we are not able to witness this icon on a weekly basis. With his days within the WWE being numbered, it seems like a definite possibility that the Deadman will retire this year at the Super dome.

'The Phenom' made a monumental return to the WWE on the 25th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw and, cut a very confusing promo regarding his future status. Well there's no denying that WWE won't let the Dead man retire in such fashion, considering that he is the greatest performer of all time.

With some fuel left in his tank, the Deadman could surprise the world by showing up in the Royal Rumble and making a statement by choke-slamming 'the 16-time World Champion', possibly eliminating him. This would definitely set this dream match for 'the Grandest Stage of them All' this year and would be a commendable way to send off a character which has entertained us for 25 years straight.

#1 Daniel Bryan probably won't return to in-ring action

The supporters of the Yes Movement could be in for a disappointing Sunday

Well, there is so much to say about this man's willingness to return to the ring but there are still conflicting opinions within the WWE regarding allowing him to wrestle again. Daniel Bryan is perhaps the most passionate wrestler in the world and it's rather unfortunate that his career had to end very early.

WWE has a very strict medical policy and with Bryan suffering from multiple concussions earlier in his career, it wouldn't be an easy task to be cleared by the doctors for a future in-ring return.

His recent feud with Shane McMahon suggests that there may be more to the story than what meets the eye and that he could return to the WWE even if it were for one final match but, considering his health issues and the consequences that could come with it, it doesn't seem to be a possibility that 'the Leader of the Yes Movement' will show up this Sunday to win the Royal Rumble like many sources have claimed he wil.

Everybody is excited for the Royal Rumble and there isn't anyone on this planet who would not mark out if Bryan returns but, it would be impractical to satisfy ourselves with false hopes.

Well, we are all believers in magic, trapped in a world bewitched by the deceit of reality; this definitely sums up the Daniel Bryan situation.
