5 matches for AJ Styles at WrestleMania 35

Could Styles be the man to retire The Dead Man?
Could Styles be the man to retire The Dead Man?

It's been over a month since WrestleMania 34. WWE has served up a whole lot of hits and misses since then for their fans. AJ Styles was a featured attraction at WrestleMania and continues to be featured in a prominent role on television. He may not be 'the guy', but he's certainly one of the top guys in the company.

Styles had a solid match against Jericho upon his WrestleMania debut, a classic with Shane McMahon the year after, and then competed with Shinsuke Nakamura in a match that didn't live up to expectations. What's next for The Phenomenal One? Whom will he face at WrestleMania 35?

I've drawn up a list of potential opponents in this article. Let me know who you think Styles will end up facing at the Show of Shows, next year.

I think these men can be very interesting opponents...

#5 Daniel Bryan

We saw a glimpse of this match, before it was interrupted

AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan did face off on the night after WrestleMania. However, the match was interrupted just when it was getting really good. We know that the two men have faced each other outside WWE. We also know that they have the utmost respect for one another.

This is the real dream match in a lot of people's eyes. As good as the Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles match looked on paper, in a limited amount of time, Styles and Bryan proved that they have superb chemistry when working one another. The match may have only been interrupted to hold it off, until later.

Would one of the two men have to go heel down the line to make this match happen? I do think so, judging by how little heat there was for Styles vs. Nakamura when both men were just babyfaces.

#4 John Cena

Could Cena defeat Styles to win his 17th WWE Championship?
Could Cena defeat Styles to win his 17th WWE Championship?

John Cena is only one title win away from defeating Ric Flair's record. He would have possibly been champion already, but he's off to Hollywood, waist-deep in a movie career currently. Are Cena and Styles destined to clash again when WrestleMania comes around? Remember that the two men have absolutely incredible chemistry when working each other.

Cena has been full of praise for Styles and everything he can do inside the ring. Styles too has praised Cena immensely, whenever he's been asked about his series of matches with the face of WWE. The two men have a great deal of mutual respect and may want to recreate their magic at WrestleMania 35.

I'm sure that Styles wouldn't mind laying down for Cena and taking the pin, to be part of history. If the match is good enough, fans may not mind it either.

#3 Randy Orton

Believe it or not, the two men have never had a full-fledged program
Believe it or not, the two men have never had a full-fledged program

Randy Orton and AJ Styles did face one another in the past. However, they've not had the dream feud that many thought they would have.

This is because Styles is currently SmackDown Live's biggest babyface not named Daniel Bryan, and Orton has also been a babyface for a while. Could there be a heel turn for The Viper down the line?

Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles is a big-time feud, that will make waves whenever it does happen. It may even help to freshen up Randy Orton whose character has become a little stale, of late. Orton has been very vocal in claiming that he prefers to work as a heel. It may work out for the best, for both parties in this case!

#2 Seth Rollins

This may be a real delight for pure wrestling fans!
This may be a real delight for pure wrestling fans!

How does Rollins face a guy on the other brand, you ask? Well, Rollins could always win the Royal Rumble. Subsequently, he may want to face AJ Styles in a championship match for the ages. Imagine how hot the crowd will be when these two men mix it up!

Both men came up from the independent circuit. Both men defied the odds and made it to WWE, eventually rising to the very top. Both men still continue to get incredible ovations from the WWE Universe.

This would be a high octane match that would possibly steal the show. Throw in a stipulation like a ladder and you've got yourself an absolute winner.

#1 The Undertaker

Could The Phenomenal One make The Undertaker rest in peace?
Could The Phenomenal One make The Undertaker rest in peace?

The idea of 'The Phenom' vs. 'The Phenomenal One' has been teased for a while. The Undertaker did not seem to be in the best shape at WrestleMania 33. Since he made his return at WrestleMania 34, he's looked far better as a competitor and an athlete. Could he continue his dream run all the way to WrestleMania 35?

Retiring The Undertaker is no easy feat. You always receive the tag of the guy who did it and it can become a black stain upon you. Styles may be the only man with the goodwill to make The Undertaker call it quits.

Moreover, Styles can take all the bumps in this huge match. He can make The Undertaker seem like The Dead Man of the past once again.

These were my top 5 picks as AJ Styles' dream opponents for WrestleMania 35.
